Bonnyrigg Rose cite ‘pyramid integrity’ as reason for voting against B teams in Lowland League next season.
Good for them 👍

I heard on local radio that both Hibs and THEM are considering entering teams for next season.

We really shouldnt. Just taking the places away from the smaller ambitious clubs.

Shouldn't be allowed.

I'd be amazed if the Lowland League clubs allow that, speaking to the guys at Spartans it's touch and go if Celtic/Rangers will even be permitted again next season. I'd be very surprised if the league voted to increase the number of B teams to 4.

The article in the EEN suggested Bonnyrigg voted for change and as a result of not winning they secretary resigned? The article also suggests hypocrisy from the clubs in that they voted to save their own skins by voting in this way after they complained about the SPFL doing the same in the pandemic.

AFAIK the league is only allowed 2 ‘guest’ teams in the league, so if Hibs/Hearts were included in that league it would be at the expense of one/both of Celtc or the Huns

A bit more to it than that with the secretary. There was also a vote last week about increasing promotion/relegation and that got voted against as well

Should be 2 up 2 down without a play off IMO.

Winner of the highland and lowland league gets in.

I think it’s ludicrous that whoever finishes bottom of league 2 gets a chance to Retain their league position.

Or:

10th in L2 relegated
HFL and LFL winners play each other, winner promoted and loser plays 9th in L2 for second chance at promotion

And for those that do go down, makes it doubly harder for them to come back up.

They can't get promoted but neither of the Uglies Bairn's teams are in promotion spot at the moment and the article seems to have forgotten that East Kilbride are currently above both of them with Bonnyrigg Rose miles ahead. I like that we are at least putting the application in as I don't want the Uglies getting yet another advantage. However, I don't think it should be allowed and it would be far better having the reserve league back

If they let them in it's only a matter of time before they try to have the right to promotion to League Two. Was boringly inevitable they wouldn't be happy with just one season and would try to stay.

Which is why the Ugly Sisters shouldn't be allowed to have a second team in the pyramid structure.
