Seems he is to be let go by Aberdeen after returning from injury. For his organisational skills alone he has to be worth considering IMHO

What is he going to be organising?

Pretty poor from Aberdeen if this is the case.
But no, we are going in a different direction. Exciting young talent.

Good player and a bit more experience may be useful. However, players coming back from injury haven't been very successful for us. Not sure how bad his injury was

No great servant to Aberdeen very poor to be releasing him after his injury. Not for us imo.

Nope, wouldn’t improve us. Need players who will go right in to the team for next season, not just players that will bounce about the squad.

Maybe if Porto was leaving in the summer. I think we're going down the young route though so i doubt it. I do think we need to add experience but if you're being released by Aberdeen then you aren't good enough for Hibs imo.

Worth considering, but only really for spare parts to be transplanted into Kyle Magennis.

He’ll end up at Cove Rangers, and do well there. Unless we suddenly lost all our centres, he’s not what we want as a long term defensive option.

Wonder if this is another marker from Goodwin wanting to stamp his authority on Aberdeen and not wanting baggage. He would still be able to cut it at Cove or ICT perhaps.

Think he's a decent enough player but he's about the same level as Hanlon but a bit older. Don't see us moving for him but it wouldn't be the worse signing even if we got him on in a 1 year deal.

Embarrassing for Aberdeen that they are going to release such a good servant to the club, but I suppose every penny counts.

Absolutely not.
I also don’t see how it’s poor from Aberdeen, he’s 35 and just had a serious injuries and is now out of contract.
The new manager doesn’t want him and Considine never wanted the deal initially offered by Glass.
Good servant for them but if I was an Aberdeen fan I wouldn’t want us giving him one for the sake of it.

Could certainly join our extensive injury team 😁

Agree. Some people think he’s nowhere near good enough for us but it’s terrible that Aberdeen aren’t wanting to sign him up again?
Sentiment is all well and good but you can’t just go handing out contracts indefinitely because someone has been a decent servant to the club, if the manager doesn’t see a role for him going forward.

Aberdeen statement
As a result of a confidential meeting on Monday between Manager Jim Goodwin and Andy Considine being leaked, Aberdeen FC has been left with no choice but to confirm that Andy, a long-term servant, will depart the Club at the end of this season.
Commenting on the news, Manager Jim Goodwin, said:
“I feel compelled to let our supporters know the facts after my meeting with Andy was leaked which I feel has thrown myself and the Club under the bus.
“On 10th February the Club offered Andy a new one-year contract, rewarding him with a six-figure guaranteed deal, and furthermore offered him the opportunity of a pathway into coaching with our Youth Academy, where the Club would continue to invest in his future including his coaching badges.
“Andy’s agent on 23rd March sent in a counter-offer which was over 50% more than our offer in guaranteed wages, and for a two-year contract.
“During my confidential talks with Andy we discussed the parties being too far apart financially and the reality is that I cannot guarantee him playing time next season. Ultimately, and understandably Andy wants to play.
“We were to meet again on Thursday to agree a joint statement on Andy moving on after a sterling career and service to Aberdeen. Unfortunately, this discussion was leaked, but not by the Club, and shouldn’t have been in the public domain until it was agreed by both parties. I would prefer to handle these sensitive discussions in-house and not have them played out in the media but feel it is important to now provide an insight into the situation.
“I have to make these difficult decisions and take the emotion out of it. This is entirely a football decision and as manager of this Club it is my job to ensure we have a dynamic squad fully equipped for the challenges of the new season.
“It goes without saying that everyone at the Club thanks Andy for all his efforts over many, many years at Pittodrie and we wish him all the very best for the future when he does leave.
“The focus now has to only be about trying to win the game against Ross County on Saturday.”
35 and wants 2 years and 50% more, greedy get, no wonder he was told to bolt. He should look at big Daz, doing his badges, playing very little but doing it for himself and the club he loves.

50% more than their offer may not be the same as 50% more than currently on.

Not many SPL teams would be able or prepared to offer a contract like that to a 35 year old outfield player.

Still think Hibs missed a great opportunity when Jack Ross was sacked in not going after Jim Goodwin.
Confident that Goodwin will eventually get the sheep sorted out.
As for Andy Considine he can go and graze with the other sheep up north.

If fit, i think he could be a decent squad player for us for a year, i suppose it depends on how fit he is though?
Daz is not getting any time now, is he retiring at the end of this season?
If he is, i think Considine could be a decent short term replacement, i'm assuming we will be bringing another central defender in should Porto be leaving?

Was the mainstay of their defence, and they suffered badly when he was injured. Very good player, would have been a great signing even a couple of years ago, but too old for us to consider him now, I think.
Seem to remember him being one of the fairer players when the Dons were doing their hammer throwing. Hope he has a good last few years in the lower divisions.
