View Full Version : Our Referees, Again!

Even by our shocking standards our refs excelled themselves this week. Here's some highlights!
1. Watching Liverpool game and ball bounces off one defender on to another defender's arm. Commentator laughs, they're never getting a pen for that. Well they do if Alan Muir's the ref!!
2. Penrose of Livi absolutely wipes out St J player. Much, much worse than Porto's tackle at Ibrox, yellow card.
3. St J defender slips and deliberately arms ball away in box and right in front of Clancy, play on!! A stonewaller!
4. Charlie Adam pushes Lewis Ferguson twice in face. Brother Beaton gives Dundee a free kick from which they score. TBF Ferguson committed the 1st foul but I doubt Beaton noticed that either! I loved Adam's comments about Ferguson play acting and needing to man up!
5. Our penalty claim and Mueller booking. Does anyone seriously think that would have happened to either of the uglies? No, the geniuses on Sportscene would be nodding profoundly and saying, well there's contact in the box so it has to be a penalty!
6. OF game today. McCoist and Walker applauding Collum for not getting the book out. That's great, but we would have had about 3 bookings by then. Why should those 2 teams be refereed differently from every other team?
Scottish football has many problems but I think the standard and bias of our officiating is an open sore!

I thought that the Adams incident was very similar to the Rocky incident when he got a red card and two match ban.

Should have been a penalty for us. Youu
missed the Hearts penalty. Total dive and the pundits would only say he went down very easily not that it was a dive.

The lack of bookings in the Glasgow Derby is one that really gets me. Just total inconsistency.

Dreading VAR and how worse it will become.

I honestly think VAR will help because they know there will be instant and detailed scrutiny of their decisions. The Mueller 'penalty' wasn't even discussed on Sportscene last night, it would be with VAR though like you I'm sure they would back up the ref. However until we get a referee pool properly representative of all of Scotland then nothing will change.

My fear is its the same incompetents from the same associations that are going to be reviewing all decisions. Many of the decisions are subjective and we all know which side of the line they will fall on.

Surprised no-one has mentioned Tony Twatt getting away with kicking Doig after fouling him when Doig was lying prone on the pitch

Clear as day. Can't believe he got away with that.

Maybe Doig should do a Ramirez?

Right below us and I thought red straight away. He could easily have been red carded for consistent breaches of the rules even without that

I thought they might have called out Robbie Neilson after him slating Ferguson for diving a few weeks ago.
