In a league starved of quality Dundee United were pathetic with their time wasting antics, if it is all about finishing in the top 6 at all costs then fans will stay in the house, not the first team either to fo this at Easter Road this season.

With the league being as tight as it is and a draw being a decent outcome for them, I thought they were perfectly entitled to run the clock down a bit.
If we find ourselves a couple of goals to the good going into the latter stages of our next 2 games, I’ll be very disappointed if Hibs aren’t streetwise enough to do likewise.
Hibs fans don’t have to like United’s tactics.

We would get booked for time-wasting. Siegrist time-wasting antics and Watts finger-wagging after persistent fouling showed the leniency they got.
We aren't permitted to play same football as other teams. We get punished much more quickly than a fair portion of the league, as the stats this season shows.
Cadden got booked for delaying a throw-in by seconds in a game a few weeks ago. Siegrist burned minutes and just got a soft warning, that he chose to ignore and the ref allowed his antics to go unpunished.

Correct it is their perogative but it was more than a bit of time wasting and with bills rising people might think twice about going to a game when the product is not that great as it is and with the few entertaining players that there are getting hacked down for having the audacity of trying to generate excitement by running past an opponent not being protected ( Boyle previously ) and Jasper well.....

United fans knew what they were going to get yesterday and sold out their allocation.

Well either all the teams are Tom Kite and on the same level or every team has improved. If time wasting is part of the entertainment then I'm wasting my time with my expectations of what the game should offer.

They annoyed me greatly yesterday. Clark and Watt were in the ref's ear from the first minute, the impromptu water break, Siegrist choosing to get a different ball than the one on the pitch...
Seemed almost a coached approach to things, like they're almost given drills practising referee complaints and hand gestures.
And Watt's just an arse.

Not arguing with any of this, but I would take Watt at Hibs.

Dundee Utd, like everyone else that visits ER, is entitled to play how they want.
If we were semi decent, we could break them down and tuck them away.
We are nowhere near that right now, and need to think about how we rectify it, rather than moaning about them timewasting.
Ref added on 6 minutes yesterday, it's not like he never noticed.

50/50 on that one, didn't have a great game but picks up good positions and runs well with the ball.
Might just be paranoid, but strikes me as one of those ex-Jambos who ramps up the arse factor when they play Hibs.

So by your thinking they should just let Hibs win ???

Early goal then made us work hard for a point. They'll be pretty happy with their game plan and performance. They were always going to give us most of the possession being the away team.

Score after 7 minutes then do nothing for 83? Why not go and beat us?
They were a distant 2nd best 2nd half and very fortunate not to lose..

I don’t think we had to work too hard to get a point. Should have got the 3

Don't think we have the right to moan about time wasting with the length of time Macey takes to take a goal kick, even when we are losing. He's probably one of the worst culprits in the league from what I've seen.

Fair point they are entitled to do that however we are entitled to think the ref should do something about it e.g when they decided to have a team water break and the bizarre face off with Siegrist and the ref and two balls on the pitch absolutely bizarre he let him off with ripping him like that so weak it was unreal :greengrin

He's had about one good half season. Motherwell obviously suited him well, but he's only managed 1 in 13 games for Dundee Utd.

There is also the time it takes us to move the ball from one end of the park to the other.
