Working with superstars like Kevin De Bruyne (https://theathletic.com/player/premier-league/manchester-city/kevin-de-bruyne/), Romelu Lukaku (https://theathletic.com/player/premier-league/chelsea/romelu-lukaku-menama/) and Eden Hazard (https://theathletic.com/player/champions-league/real-madrid/eden-hazard-jHFQTkPhLgbx37BB/) taught him a thing or two. So did watching some of the other players at domestic level.
“I loved going to Atalanta when Timothy Castagne (https://theathletic.com/player/premier-league/leicester-city/timothy-castagne/) was there,” he says. “(Gian Piero) Gasperini, wow, what a job. I loved the fact they could punch above their weight.
“I used to like watching Inter (https://theathletic.com/team/inter/) under (Antonio) Conte when Rom was playing… Stefano Pioli at Milan (https://theathletic.com/team/milan/)…the Italian link probably comes from childhood and watching Gazzetta on Channel 4.
“But there are so many. Tuchel, Klopp, Guardiola… I love what Graham Potter has done at Brighton (https://theathletic.com/team/brighton-and-hove-albion/), he’s tactically really smart… Arteta at Arsenal.
“I love watching football but I love competing more. I want more games!”
How he would fit even more into an already congested schedule isn’t worth thinking about. Clearly, he adores the all-consuming nature of his work but it is so time-consuming, especially with a young family.
“My wife and her family have been amazing with our one-year-old,” Maloney says.
“There are some very early starts and late finishes for me, but it’s all worth it for days like at Motherwell.
“I know it’s early, but to send a big amount of people like that away happy is a great feeling. And I genuinely love the job. I really do.”

the numbering system was fine until it said "last part" then I had to check if there was a part 5 before reading last part. :greengrin

Absolutely brilliant insight. Loving how positive and passionate he seems to be. Every fan should read that and appreciate how hard he is working to make our team better. Really hope the hard work pays off. Got a lot of time for Shaun got to be said.

Really good read that, thanks for posting.

Confirms what I already thought about Maloney, he's a really switched on dedicated guy with a love of all things football. Really hope he can get us performing and winning matches.

Very interesting.Nice insight.
Certainly Shaun comes over as a man on a mission and very committed to his tasks.

Certainly appears to have an experienced professional crew on board.

Really good to read this stuff. If we give him time, I believe he will succeed.

Here’s to Sean. You can’t please everyone all of the time. Just persevere with what you believe in and give it your best shot. Time will reveal all.

A good read thank you.

My big concern is not that we don’t take chances-it’s that we don’t make many.

All that needs to be said really.

This could go wrong or it could go right. But we’ve taken an ambitious gamble here as a club and it requires patience to see if it will work.

Thanks for posting all that MK.

It was an interesting read and hopefully it'll give some of the more nervous supporters a bit of resilience.

Despite all the hysterics about the semi final etc, I'm looking forward to seeing what Maloney can achieve after a decent summer window and a proper preseason.
