The odds are massively stacked against us for the semi. We will very likely lose and could lose badly. Just hope we have some of the injured players back.

Whilst we’re definitely the underdogs I’m not really concerned about us losing badly in terms of goals.
Since Maloney has come in we’ve conceded 14 goals in 16 games. We’ve conceded three on two occasions and two on two occasions (both away against the OF). We’ve kept clean sheets in 8 of the 16 games and never lost by more than 2.
I must say I do think we’ll get beat but I can’t really see it being a skelping. We generally don’t commit enough men forward to get hammered imo.
My concern is we go behind and don’t offer much to get back into the game.

Too many people just happy to accept failure. That's a real problem at Hibs. I'm not saying he should go if we lose the semi (a real hiding might change that), but just shrugging and saying 'oh it's ok because he's only been here 4 months' is not going to cut it.
The loser mentality of this club needs stamped out.

Really don’t get this attitude. It’s ****ing Hearts we’re playing.
We’ve not lost to them badly this season, we’ve not even lost. As it stands, we’ll probably have as strong, if not a stronger, squad available than we did last time we played them.
Hope those within the club are thinking a bit differently.

The loser mentality of this club in part stems from a third of our core support perennially throwing the toys out after one bad season, refusing to attend and slagging off everything the club does on social media.
Guarantee you our STs will be back down to 8/9k when renewals come up and the biggest moaners will be the no-shows.

{In David Attenborough hushed whisper} And here we have the lesser spotted Steve20, rarely seen at football matches but found commonly on forums after defeats. It's mating call is of strained irascible screams that "Hibs accept failure" is also part of the calls of a wider species of curmudgeonly fan more common since the invention of internet forums, all of whom offer no evidence of what they spout. The one place you are guaranteed not to find one of these inelegant creatures is after a Hibs victory, the lesser spotted Steve20 becomes the never spotted Steve20.

The loser mentality of being in an era of getting to the latter stages of cup competitions that pretty much no hibs team has ever managed.
I am not sure people understand how sport and competition works, you can't just win because of X reason, it's sport it doesn't work like that, it's why we watch it.
Would it be better if we just didn't enter the competition if it's deemed we have no chance of winning? Since the league is a lost cause every season due to the Old Frim, should we just close the club down?

I agree in part but it's very ironic coming from yourself. Someone who for years now, seems to start worrying about derby defeats as soon as we get within 5 or 6 weeks of the match.

I've attended every derby it was logistically possible for me to make since around 2008 and I usually see us lose, this after bombastic predictions on here that we're "due a win" or whatever with nothing actually having changed to precipitate that. There's no irony in highlighting systemic failure at club level to take these games seriously. I still pay my money, show up and support the team.
Anyway that won't happen this time as we're going to win both games 5-0.

We've just had page after page of 3 games to save his job, the usual suspects will no doubt be out in force yet again with the same boring stuff.

Because they are 16 points ahead of us and we have half a team out through injury. Even if a few of them are back they will be nowhere near match fit. We will be huge underdogs.

We have a 0% record v them in three games there with a goal difference of -9. It won't be an easy task by any means.
However, Neilson has a habit of choking in big games, particularly derbies (as evidenced by a superior Hearts team failing to beat us twice already, both times when we were in poor form) so there's a chance.

Its a 50/50 game.
We've twice recently knocked them out the cup from the championship, and they've done it once to us. Don't get much bigger gap than that. It matters **** all.

Nowhere near huge underdogs they will rightly be favourites but both league games a draw and they have lost in the not too distant past to the bottom two teams in the league. Not much in it at all certainly nowhere near the underdogs we were when horsing Rangers at Hampden.
