Don’t think the draw has been made ??

Could easily be playing them in the league..(will we make top 6?) then a week later in the cup semi final..

Dundee are now the biggest club not to have won the cup since nineteen canteen.

I realise it's highly unlikely but it would be fantastic if the semi finals were played out by teams from Edinburgh and Dundee

If we do get them, you just know they will get all the breaks, back in 2003,Hibs had half a team missing through injuries/suspension, this year it could be a full team, typical Hertz.

You made it clear this morning on the other match day thread you didn’t want Hibs to get to the semi final.

'Bring on the Jambos'? ........From what I saw today we are pretty short of being at the stage where we can be saying bring on anybody. We made heavy weather of that second half and our play was poor, Motherwell pinned us back and we found it incredibly difficult to break out playing from the back against a high press by a team with 10 men. That high press should have left them wide open at the back but we were so slow on the ball they had men back by the time we got to half way and some of our passing was poor.

The best news for us at the moment is that Melkerson looks like he might live up to his price tag and we have a month to get some more of our massive injury list fit. A Dundee team who have pulled off a massive shock against the sticky buns will do for me.

Might not be a bad thing going out today. Hearts, Celtic and Rangers are miles better than us.”

Depends who else gets through. If either of the Old Firm get knocked out, I’d much rather play the team that beat them.

If not, Hearts or Rangers our best chance of getting through. Probably rather have Rangers given our Hampden records against the two of them.

I’d rather not play rangers. Our hampden record against them is too precious to me to risk losing it so soon after gubbing them 3-1 there in November.

"Might" being the key word. If I'd said I hope we don't win today then fair enough. Of course I wanted us to go through.

Given our Hampden records against both Hearts and Celtic, I’d much rather play a team we’ve a good record against.

To be honest, I'd rather not. Hearts have a good team again, we will still have about 50 players out and it's Hampden.

One of the Dundee teams please.

Rangers are cruising today, and I think Celtic will take care of Dundee Utd
Hearts are the lowest ranked opponent we can get. Semi is 5 weeks today, hopefully we’ll be almost full strength by then. I’d be confident with a full strength squad
Anyway it’s just my opinion

Hibs
Hearts
Rangers
Dundee Utd/Celtic

Celtic probably the final team to makr it.

Semi final takes place 3 days after europa league quarter final. Might not be the worst time to play The Rangers...

Celtic are very strong so would want to avoid them

Get most of our injured players back, Melkersen flying and pump the jambos

I understood what you meant. Had we lost today (which, being honest, I thought was quite likely due to our lack of firepower lately) I'd probably have said something along the lines of 'at least it means we don't run the risk of losing to the yams at Hampden'. Saying what you did prior to the game tho was always going to draw you some flak.

Personally I'd prefer to avoid Hearts in the semi. We've shown we can compete with Celtic and Rangers at Hampden this season and (assuming Celtic go through) we'd have less pressure on us against one of them.

We just have to beat what's in front of us. We will have more players back from injury and some of the new signings right up to speed. We were meant to be lambs to the slaughter against The Rangers in the LCSF. Lets not start bed wetting about who we get in the semi.Time for Heroes again.

Also Hertz we’re going to take 5 or 6 off us at the last derby. All just bluster and hype.

My choice,

Dundee Utd win tonight , we draw them in the semi’s, the big huns beat the wee huns , and a repeat of 2016.

Not much to ask for. :greengrin

Nope, it's Dundee as they haven't won the Scottish Cup since 1910 which is considerably longer ago than 2012.

But to be fair to Dundee, at least they have won it.

I’ve just got a feeling everyone will get back to fitness and upto speed at the right time for this one.

Hanlon, Newell, JDH, Doig, Rocky etc.

I think we were better than them last time during the first half and it was largely down to Doig dominating Atkinson down the left.

Once he was injured we dropped off and hearts were always going to come out fired up for the second half.

I really fancy us to beat them, not once but twice in a week.
