It's the system IMO. It's slow, laboured and ponderous. Plenty of endeavour but absolutely lacking in quality that's needed to play it. Maloney needs to change to 2 strikers upfront.

I really like the look of Mueller as well and hope he gets more game time when he's back from injury/illness.

Still not really sure where he plays though, and that could be his main issue? Think Maloney prefers Hendo over him through the middle.

Though if he was fit yesterday I don't doubt he would've started.

It’s not the strikers when we are not creating chances, for me the system is set up far too defensive

Doige was very poor in his hold up play yesterday but to be fair it can't be easy being so isolated. By the time a team mate is anywhere near him he's surrounded by the opposition. All very well Maloney saying he wants more quality in the final third, but with this system and approach we've substituted goals for possession.

He was but he actually played a few fantastic first time passes out wide, which I was surprised at how good they were! He just seems so far off the pace and away from his usual efforts of chasing stuff down.

Hope the big man can find that level again, but I'd be giving Melkersen a few games ahead of him just now.

One thing Dick Campbell has always said in any interviews is that he doesn't get ask any players to do anything they can't do. It's a simple rule but when you look at the amount of square pegs in round holes we've got as of late, you do wonder. You can say mention injuries all you want, but a more pragmatic approach to tactics, team selection and how we play may not go amiss. With this selection of players we aren't going to be able to play the style that Maloney wants us to.

Even with the injuries and suspensions, we are a better team than what recent results and performances have shown.
