I feel like he is improving each week.
Seems stonger and a yard quicker,I expect the bids to come in again for him this summer.
Its a long time since we have seen two such young quality footballers in the hibs defence in him and Porteous.

Picked up his form again.

Reality is he will probably be sold in summer.

He wont unless we get a very good offer. Years on his deal, nothing to worry about.

Porto or Doig will be sold next.

Club even was clear during the week they want to sell a player for £1 million plus regularly.

Losing a player mid season is hard to replace.

Fantastic prospect, if that hun was sold for around 12 mill, Josh is well on the way to Hibs getting the right amount of cash for him, when they decide the time is right for selling.

I can see centre half becoming his permanent position on the left side of a 3. Really good performance today

Porto more likeky due to contract, cant see Doig going anywhere this summer. Hasn't really been good enough this season.

Agree with that but thought he was our best player today.

I thought he was the equal of Porteous today. Commanding like he maybe hasn't been before. That's the one who would be worth a few million.

He was very good today. A back 3 of him on the left, Porteous in the middle and Clarke on the right looks both a solid unit and full of willingness to press forward as well. It also leaves quality back up in Hanlon and Rocky.

In reality at least 1 of those players is unlikely to be here next season if the right offer comes in though.

The positive of this pretty dull run is we have sorted out our defensive issues very impressively. We aren't allowing as many crosses into the box and we are defending them better when they do come in.

Porto and Lewis also Played well along with Jasper ( in the first half! )

I've been critical of him for a fair chunk of the season but I think he has looked much better in the last few games and possibly because Lewis is around him

Was wasted playing so deep today, we needed him further up the park more often. Beginning to get back the form he had when he first broke through. Left sided defenders are much sought after, he’ll get a great move eventually.

I think he lost a bit of confidence for a while but he’s defending better now (Caldwell influence?) and that’s giving him the confidence to push forward.

I still think we’ll get close to £5m for him in the next couple of years

I’m not so convinced. While his surging runs are sometimes a good watch far too often he just runs to the byeline and doesn’t put in a good ball or runs it out the park. To the point where I actually think it’s counter productive him making those bursts down the line.

I thought today he still had the chance to make the odd run with Stevenson covering but looked a lot more composed on the ball than when he receives it out wide. It’ll be interesting to see him play up against a more testing centre forward though.

Quite easily the MOTM for me. I'd argue that's the best I've seen him play for us. Fantastic in both defence (something I've criticised him for before) and attack.

Really impressed me today.

Brilliant today- don't think he's a good season, but he proved his talent and him and Lewis have us very secure down the left side. I think Doig is an under-rated defender when it comes to dealing with attacking wide players- for a young guy he rarely gets skinned.

Different class today. Literally did not put a foot wrong in the whole game.

Can’t believe this comment he was MoM to me, been solid the last few games wherever he plays.

I agree he was motm and had a great game. I was replying to a post that said he was wasted playing so deep today. To me he is more beneficial to the team at LCB than LWB as I think his runs forward are often fruitless.

Yeah drove me a bit mad that Ross refused to play the two of them at the same time when it was clear as day that they would compliment each other really well.

Doig has had a tough time of it since the sale rumours started but the last few games he’s looked much better and today was another good step forward. He looked much more calm and in control of what he was doing and his positioning. Pleasing.

He is easily the most up under rated player we have. Only 19 and puts in a solid, professional display every week, no matter where he plays. He was excellent again today, a rolls Royce of a performance. Josh will go for big money, no doubt about it.

MOTM yesterday for me.

Obviously all left sided but he has shown he can play full back, wing back and centre back.

Getting better all the time and is a huge positive in these tricky times.

I actually think a part of the problem was he was too OVER rated to start with.

He clearly has all the attributes needed to go far but some of the valuations put on him after a handful of first team games were a bit extreme.

He also had a very bad tendency to give the ball away..there was a few games I watched where he did it repeatedly. He wasn’t alone in Ross’ teams to do that of course be he was a serial offender.

But as I said the last few games we have seen him really settle down again and Maloney has clearly been an influence here. Putting Lewis either behind or in front of him has allowed him to focus on one role.
Ross seemed to think Doig could be everywhere all at once.

Now there may come a day where he can be that Andy Robertson type that can patrol a whole side of the pitch without somehow ever being out of position and having the time and energy to hurt the opponent, retain possession and defend!

But asking Doig to be that player so young and so quickly, despite his obvious qualities, was a bit daft so I’m delighted how Maloney is helping him on that front and the benefits the team and Doig are getting from that.

It’s the type of thing that tells me Maloney knows what he’s doing and if given time might well be able to apply that to a whole team / squad.
