7 league games out of 11 we’ve not scored. On the plus side we don’t concede many, but it’s not great entertainment.

In our last 10 league games, we've scored zero goals in 8 of them.
Eight out of ten league games without scoring.
That is totally unacceptable, and that's from someone who was broadly positive when Maloney was appointed.
People making excuses for a 80% non-scoring rate, by citing injuries etc despite our squad/budget being far greater than most of the league, is pathetic.

The thread title is **** but it’s a valid point, 8 games without scoring in 12 isn’t great.

Kensell would have hoped the extra fans would have gave the players and extra zip about there play.
The players hoped the fans would help inspire them to score
Result speaks for itself
Maloney must see we’re 3 players short forward wise
One thing of note when Melkerson and Allan came on there was an immediate lift and bit of trickery from Melkerson
The boy must start, doidge doesn’t suit maloney set up

Being negative can be draining so despite the fact we cannot score a goal at least Maloney has us solid at the back and we are conceding. At least there's something for us to build on there

4th in the league.
That’s a huge false economy when we’re only 5 above 10th. The good thing is if we start to put a run of results together we’re in a great place, but we have to start scoring goals. Have we ever had a worse run not scoring?

You know it's bad but when you see it written down..it honestly goes to show [as if we didn't know it] how important Martin Boyle was both in goals & assists.

Can’t blame it all on Maloney, you should be able to put our 11 players at this level with little to no instruction and they’d still able to come up with a couple of half decent chances in 90 minutes.
Its actually impressive how little we’ve scored considering we are actually trying, you’d think one would just fall to us or ricochet in!
End of the day the players just aren’t good enough, we’ve got 10-11 players out at the moment but to be honest even at that I still don’t think we’ll be what fans expect and want.
I said it and January and it’s the same for the summer, we need quality.

It’s all about the context… except when it comes to football it seems.
In 1945 the average age of a Hibs player was 35,
in 2022 it was nineteen-n—n-n-n-nineteen
Bit really but come on folks smell the coffee. All this against a backdrop of change in personnel, tactics, management team. It wasn’t quite working out for Ross either. Not really sure what we want as a support that doesn’t need a bit of time and gelling? January was never the right transfer window to fix the apparent ills that befell the team in the previous transfer window.

We have to remember we are massively impacted by injuries, but the lack of goals is a real problem. It's still early days for the wee man and it would be unfair to judge him just now; he has one arm tied behind his back. We will just have to muddle through as best we can until the injury situation improves.

3 points better than 2 draws (2 points) and no goals conceded/ not scored any.

the good news is that next season Hearts’ third place finish will be dismissed because we’ve not scored in however many games, think that’s how it works, anyway.

I hate being negative because it’s not my style but I don’t see how we suddenly start scoring more goals when we have all our injured players back. Other than Magennis who is going to make a meaningful difference? Half the injuries are goalkeepers and defenders, one of them has never kicked a ball yet. It’s all about damage limitation this season and having a clear out to allow Maloney to bring in players to suit his system. People can point to the fact that we’re 4th and still in the cup, that doesn’t tell the whole story.

I can’t see us improving much when injuries improve - add in I don’t really trust them to recruit what is needed as we need nearly a whole new team. We might get it but the squad needs a complete over haul as we have so many average players. Unless change tactics and play to players limited strengths.

Newall, Hanlon, Clarke, Mitchell and Nisbet Would all make a major difference to that team today…..and as you say Magennis.add Macey that is seven starters….
It’s not one player, it is the cumulative impact of injuries cannot be ignored…it is killing our ability to be competitive ….
