I ordered oven cleaner from amazon.
When it arrived , my wife put the unopened box on the couch and went to work.
When i came in, i noticed the the bottom of the box was soaking.
The oven cleaner was leaking and it has basically ruined my leather couch.
Its taken the top layer of leather off the couch and left a pretty big mark.

My question is how do i report this and do i have any chance of claimimg against the seller rather than my house insurance ?

There does not seem to be an option for contacting the seller directly. Theres options for how you want refund etc but i want to speak to the seller to claim on their insurance for the couch.

Do i have a case ?

Maybe but good luck cos they'll blame it on transit or the packing person etc.

Pretty crap situation. Hope you get it sorted.

Probably give yourself less stress just claiming through your own insurance - think it would be hard to determine/prove who is actually at fault (manufacturing, supplier, courier ...)

You’ve done better than me - i’d definitely have blamed the wife by now!

if you're in a good mood you could sign this Amazon Driver Pay Cut £20 A Day (organise.network) (https://the.organise.network/campaigns/teamup-amazon-driver-pay-cut?utm_campaign=F5wLBoWQNi&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=share&fbclid=IwAR2SWRLR3H3F-1gqlqtObxvoFD9YZefCnEqHmVFO3B_xzd7mE3dNphuygDc) ;)

but anyway, i would have contacted Amazon even if just for advice

You can try the live chat on Amazon but is generally someone in India. Not sure if they would be interested in anything like this..may try to blame yourselves for incorrect storage or something

Setting aside the couch for a moment, you should still go back to Amazon about the order from them, they should replace it as it was damaged when it got to you

doesnt help with the couch I know, but you also didn’t get your order in pristine condition either
