Am I right in thinking it was the lunch with Grant Holt and Pat Stanton this weekend?
Did anyone go?

I was there it was a good day. Both spoke very well and while most of us know Paddy and have probably heard him a lot, his stories entertained as always, Grant Holt was a nice big fellah with nice things to say about the club, players and fans.

Away to Dunfermline the Dunfermline fans were singing at him "get your tits out for the lads" so he duly obliged by lifting up his top. 😯

I really liked Grant Holt and think we should’ve kept him a season longer. He was excellent in the derby replay win at ER and the Aberdeen semi

Thats great to hear. Was worried that with not much fanfare on here, it had been a damp squib.
I really like GH and he seems to have formed a good bond with the club after only a year up here.

Could get him back to do a bit of coaching with the forwards. Has tweeted about Hibs a few times some quite funny.

Always came across like a good guy and still does anytime I see him speak. Clearly felt a connection with Hibs.

My issue from a playing side was that the two games you’ve listed above are about my only recollection of him being north of half-decent. Who knows, maybe we’d have got more from him after the promotion season, but I think it’s more likely we just got Grant a season or two too late in his career for him to really be at the level we were looking for, hence he wasn’t deemed worthy of another year.

I’ve no doubt he’d be good at these sort of events and hopefully plenty hibees had a good night out in his company.

I agree Matty, put in a good shift and seemed to enjoy being with Hibs
