We miss him!

If only we could get him back, I seriously believe that his goals would fire us into third spot.

On his day, I think he has been one of the best strikers to have played in the Premiership for many a year.

Come back Martin!

If he played consistently like he played "on his day" he'd be signing for Real Mardrid. Boyle was good for us and we were good for him but there were many games where he was posted missing. I think the timing of his departure and the money were probably about right. Better players have left Hibs and we've done just fine. I wish him well but we move on.

Could we get John McGinn back as well.

We really went downhill after Des Brenner left.

Wonder if he's available on a free transfer.

Hoping after a few years of making his millions he'll come back to finish off at the club that gave him the platform to become the international mainstay he is today.

Has he only played the one game? Seen he scored in first one then heard nothing since.

There’s a very good chance his team gets relegated. They are only 1 point above the relegation places but the team below them have a game in hand and a better goal difference. 9 games left in their season.

It's a dilemma because they play in maroon but Boyle plays for them. I hope they go down, sell him so he makes more money, stays a season then comes back to Scotland. :agree:

He has played in all of their games, they won 3-0, two 0-0 draws and then lost 4-1 last night.

Would be funny if he had a relegation clause in his contract!

From a football perspective, what a dreadful move for Boyle.

No one, not even Boyle, was under the illusion that it was anything other than a financial decision. He'll make his money for a year or two and then move back to the UK or immigrate to Australia.

Franck Sauzee is coming back!

Wait… I’ve just heard he’s NOT going to sign a new contract. :grr:

Franck has artificial limbs now but still has his football brain. Could play another 20 seasons.

If he's got a relegation clause in his contract and can leave with a payoff, he'll have played a blinder.

He won't, that would be ridiculous. No club is that badly run.

Plenty clubs have that kind of clause as if they go down they will not be able to pay the wages. I don't think this will be the case here though.

No, they don't. They have clauses that would drop the players wages by a percentage. Norwich especially do this. They also have clauses that would allow a player to leave for a set fee after relegation (a relegation transfer release clause)

I have never heard of a player being allowed to walk away because the team got relegated. Very, very rare if it is a thing, and will almost certainly not be the case here.

Fair play. I'm sure I read recently Raphinha can leave leeds if they go down for £50m less than his value. I've not looked up others leaving for free. You're probably correct.
