I am researching the Hibs badges for a project.
The last two were designed by fans I understand. (Current and slope/saturn)
Does anyone know the names of the designers?
Thanks

This old news article might be useful

David Duff commissioned the awful saturn badge
As said, a school pupil designed the current badge.

Am sure someone here will have info on names /designers for you.
Pop into Central library on George IV Bridge.
All will be revealed there !

Current badge was a combination of multiple fan designs, so wasn’t designed by any one fan and I think just took aspects of each of the designs. It was all detailed in a programme when it was announced if you’ve got any kicking about from that time or know someone who does.

Not sure about that - my fading recollection is that there was competition with a single winning design that was then spruced up by a professional designer. That polishing IIRC more or less only involved one significant change that put the harp, ship and castle in the centre. IIRC the original was a quartered design that may have used the ball and the other 3 in the quarters.

Whatever’s the correct story it is a cracking badge that is miles better than some previous efforts - the honking beer mat with the slope for example, that was I think done by someone on the board at the time.

Don’t know about anything preposed, could be a different circumstance there, but the crest change was already a tired subject in 2017 and it had been kicked to death across nearly two decades before that as well.

The images of the match programme in your link showing our current badge also names the designer.

"The new look ( current badge) is based on the winning entry submitted by teenage fan Bryan Leslie of Edinburgh"

Bryan's original design can be seen in your link along with other shortlisted entries.
