What odds are bookies giving for Javid to take over Dick's job and Dick to move to House of Lords?

Surely enough dicks there already?

Surely they couldn't be so stupid to appoint him? He was pretty much Police Scotland's version of Dick and should never have got another job in policing after the M9 crash incident.
I didn't realise he was Deputy Commissioner until I was reading about the CD stuff last night. Some of the stuff he's come out with since joining the Met is quite shocking, even by his standards. If they want the Met to be more open, transparent and to build bridges with the community, then he is not the man for the job.

If any job has ever cried out for an external appointment, it's surely this one?

The prospective candidate will be offered the job on the understanding the government would be "grateful" if the investigation into partygate didn't embarrass the PM. Of course that will be accepted if the person wants the job. Poor civil servants and other pm's staff will bear the majority of the blame and it'll all fade away into history.

New met police chief.
There have been calls for her to go in the past due to many indiscretions by her officers.Big PR job needed by the met as public confidence with the MET is at a low ebb.

Some of the cases snd issues we now here about would of been hushed up or covered up The Sarah Everard Murder by one of thier own showed they were prepared to not deal properly with him exposing himself in McDonald’s as he might loose his job ffs Then he did what he did and tbe **** hit the fan
The Port case was horrific and yet no one got disciplined they got promoted
Journalists started digging and tbe Met had to put out statements about other cases in the pipeline that we might not of heard about
The sense killing of tbe footballer is another that springs to mind
Investigating themselves has just encouraged this sort of behaviour There clearly is a Culture that needs to be addressed
Dick headed up the Organisation but clearly didn’t want to tackle head on the issues she was like Boris not accepting personal responsibility snd saying thete will be a report or investigation
Nothing was changing
She should of gone before now but it’s taken Kahn to force her hand
And who thought it was appropriate to hand out questionnaires to downing st staff and give them seven days to return them ( no conferring please )
It’s farcical

To be fair to her, at least she's going.
Now we just need some politicians to do the honourable thing.

Interesting development down south as the Met take on an elected politician.

So the MET takes an absolute age to choose to investigate likely crimes in 10 Downing Street under a Tory PM and then turns on a Labour mayor who has pointed it out?
No wonder a huge amount of people have absolutely no faith, trust or confidence in them.

Apparently CD was popular with the rank and file. Presumably for protecting them from consequences?

Infiltrated by people put there by a certain political party, deflection away from the problem.

Involving the police for the Downing St parties fiasco was nonsense in the first place.
If they were being sent to Joe public's house for the same offence everyone would be saying it was a total waste of time and money.
Another witchhunt is complete.

Anyone and anything that comes into contact with Boris Johnson ends up tainted as a result. This is no different.

Khan is standing up for Londoners interests against the self-interest of the Met and its Tory establishment sponsors.
He’s got them rattled. The Met has lost the confidence of many Londoners.
