With any new manager I like to give them time to build the team they want then I will begin to judge them. I can see lots of positives with Maloney and the way the club is heading however there will be many bumps in the road. If you look at other successful teams across Europe it has taken time to develop the team into the way they want to play. Klopp and Pep took time to develop winning sides. Xavi doing the same at Barca. Gerrard at Rangers. I am not saying Maloney can reach the heights of Pep/Klopp but it shows you that even with millions to spend these managers need time as they are changing the way the team play. You simply cannot change that overnight.

We need to get back to being supporters and actively supporting the players and enjoy the process. We have young exciting players at our club and they need a good environment to learn and develop. That means making mistakes and having dips in form. For example if you are a young player on social media three months ago you would be buzzing to see Josh Campbell make the move to cement his place in the team. Roll on 3 months I would be terrified of being a young player coming into the first team. Football is a tough environment yes but can we cut some of the players and managers a bit of slack. If they aren't good enough they will soon find themselves out the club but there is no need to slate them constantly online.

Breathe and trust the process. It needs time but positive things will come.

I keep reading it needs time. And yes, that’s true. But no one with any sense is suggesting Maloney should go or anything like that.

However, it doesn’t need time to be able to beat Livingston or St Mirren. Sorry, but you don’t need a transitional period for that.

Maloney deserves time but has to win matches at some point again.

We probably dont have the players to deploy SMs tactics at the moment.
I think we’ll see slight changes now that will be getting the best out of what we have.Every days a school day.

Can see what SM is trying to do and the type of player he wants in the team. We need more movement by the front two finding open spaces. We are certainly missing Kyle in midfield. There are two many players playing the easy pass and not looking at other options. JDH at the start of the season was finding pockets of space and more forward thinking than his play now. KN needs to be more physical and protect the ball better.
Some times it takes time to get the right blend in the team but as fans we want an instant fix having followed the team for 50 odd years I am prepared to give him time.

Posts like these remind me of kickback when they got Cathro and then Stendel.

To be fair, most of us wouldn’t really know anything about kickback, or have any in depth knowledge of it’s content.

2nd paragraph - we don’t need time to beat Livingston and St Mirren.

I would expect a caretaker manager to beat them at home let alone the main guy.

Happy to give SM three of four windows and build the side and get the chance to shed the utter mediocre players, particularly in midfield. A blind man could see that central midfield is the area that is weak and vulnerable, additionally a real lack of leadership. At present he is working with what he has and has to be supported. But he also needs to look at a very unreliable squad and make cut-throat decisions........

Magennis.........completely unreliable due to injury record at the club. Offering us nothing over a whole season
Campbell.........on a 4 year contract which is quite unbelievable given from what I have witnessed he offers very little across the park.
Darren.........legend, been there too long and not at this level consistently anymore.
Scott........easiest decision ever, woeful signing and not a very good player.
Wright.........I repeat, anyone who Tommy Wright rates isn't a player I want at Hibs. Terrible signing, nice lad, extremely fragile and limited player.
Doidge.......I love him, however don't think the manager will in the short-mid term and think he will be replaced. Need pace and aggression if we want a proper target man.
McGinn.......steadied the ship under Ross, but not dynamic and another who is being exposed for what he is, a decent player but not a player who you want for regular appearances in the right back slot.
Allan.......medical reasons only, has to go, wonderful player but we all find ourselves reminiscing back to when he was unplayable in the Championship season, he's not that player anymore.

That's 8 players who can be moved on in summer, and gives SM a real stab at building a side and a successful one at that.

Get the 'engine room' (midfield) sorted and we could have a good side under SM. Until then we will see results like yesterday.

Just because I don't believe Maloneyball will work on our player budget doesn't make me a jambo. We saw pragmatism in the Derby. We need more of this, not arrogance that his style will win over in the end over so called lesser teams like Livi or St. Mirren. They know what's coming and have experienced managers who know how to combat an average team trying to play world Cup football. He needs to use more intelligence and pragmatism.

To be honest it reminds me of every manager we get. You couldn't criticise Hecky early on but he didn't work out. You were public enemy number one on here if you criticised Jack Ross early on. Now you are criticised for backing him!

Maloney is just going through the same cycle. Chances are some of those preaching for time now will be the most vocal wanting him out somewhere down the line.

Far too much common sense in that it will never catch on.
