He’s no different.Well, I didn't want to think that, but a couple of his interviews and some of those performances are pushing me in that direction. I honestly don't understand what all the ponderous pishing about across the back is all about. And I'm not sure the players do either. Against Hearts he seemed to be more sensible and pragmatic but that's out the window again now. I really fear for us against The Rangers, guff though they are just now.

I thought the tempo of our play under Ross was dreadful, but under Maloney, Ross’s team looked like something from the large Hadron Collider, every team gets so much time to get organised at the back while we fart about passing backwards and sideways 50 yards from our opponents goals, worrying and utterly bizarre in equal measure !

He’s no different.

A lot of people making this lazy, even banal comparison.

Here’s a more balanced view:

He doesn’t talk in riddles in his interviews. Though he isn’t always accurate in his match appraisal, he is at least coherent.

But he does come across a little naive in interviews and certainly seems a bit off message. One could see him as a man struggling with management.

Yip, let’s compare someone who never kicked a ball in their life to someone who represented their country at football

It’s the kind of comparison the “journalists” at the Daily Hun come out with. No thought whatsoever is put into that comparison

I honestly despair for .net that posters get to start crap threads like this and admins let them stay up.

.net used to be a forum for reasoned Hibs debate……it’s turning more into Twitter each day, full of attention seekers spouting sxxx! See the OP for a starter.

Probably not a bad comparison. Both Cathro and Maloney came in December. Cathro 4 points from his first 5 games, Maloney 6 points from his first 5 although Cathro had Rangers in that spell. Cathros longest league run without a win was 6. Maloney will equal that on Wednesday. Cathro drew with lower league Raith Rovers away in the cup. We have Arbroath away coming up.

I don't like the Cathro nonsense either, but remember Butcher captained his country, played in world cups, knew the Scottish game ect.

Its almost as if teams struggle a little in the first 20 minutes against us but have us sussed out after that .. Other teams stop sitting as far back and start to press us higher up the park , usually thats when the mistakes start creeping in. Lots of individual mistakes happening within 30 / 40 yards of our own goal. Pretty obvious that we can play this style on the training ground and when a team sits of us , but that is not happening on matchday once we have been sussed out.

In short , we quite simply dont have the quality of player with required attributes to play the style of football being asked of us , you could argue we never will have either , Scottish football is probably the most hectic pace in European football so always going to be tricky to pull off with good players. Maloney needs to realise this and start playing different styles to trick other teams out . Go more direct when the other team has us pinned in , just try different things and dont be so predictable
