I’m beginning to think the system is causing the lack of clear cut chances tbh but it’s also evident how much of a creative threat we’ve lost with Boyle

Yes, the rest of us are riding the wave of this never ending all action extravaganza. I’m needing a lie down.
Is it just me that thinks we never look like scoring ?
Yes it’s just you.

I'm more worried about the bombscare moments at the back. I understand that this team's a work in progress but it's hard to watch at times.

It’s not really though is it. We need get in behind teams always play the game in front of there defence and it’s no surprise when our strikers are on their heels when Cadden especially is putting in some cracking balls

I just don’t see us as a threat at all
Yes it’s just you.
We get in about the box in games. Lots of crosses etc.
With a bit of a run of the ball we could be scoring two or three.

Maybe that's what happens when you sell your best player.
Who'd have thought it?

Who’d have known the rest of the squad weren’t aloud to score without Boyle being around.

5 league games without a win now and a transfer window. How long does Maloney get?
Perhaps a punt on Griffiths now?

We are hopeless. Such a poor team. People can’t keep claiming we have many good players. We don’t.

They are allowed to score - they're just unlikely to score as many when he's not around - and not replaced.

Agreed, We're a bit **** to be honest. We huff and puff at times but ultimately not good enough.

I thought we were a good team on a bad run but now I think we are just a poor side.
Our midfield and forward players offer absolutely nothing.

I think Doig/Mitchell and Cadden along with the 2 strikers all need to improve and be smarter.
The wing backs have been brilliant in this system and I get on occasion just whipping a ball into an area, but a lot of times they’re clear through and instead of picking someone out they just smash it a cross the face of goal - something that looks good but in reality lacks composure and makes it impossible for the strikers to get there.
Nisbet especially always hangs back for a cut back, let’s try find him one time.

Genuinely thought we'd score, Nisbet put ball on plate for Henderson but goalie made good stop, with a further couple of great saves to thwart us. A game we contrived to lose when we should have won

It’s the managers job to compensate for that and find another way to score goals, no?

Why isn’t this happening in training?
Why is Nisbet coming so deep for the ball when he needs to be 20 yards further up getting on the end of those crosses?
The wing backs aren’t brilliant if they are playing in a way that is unlikely to help us win games. Btw Mitchell has offered very little in an attacking sense so far, Doig should have started ahead of him yesterday.
Clear questions for Maloney: is he asking Nisbet to be in 2 places at once, or are Nisbet and Cadden ignoring his instructions?

I think we are on more than just a bad run sadly.
Since the end of September we have managed just 16 points from our last 17 games which is really quite worrying.
I feel the biggest issue lies with the overall lack of tempo in our play.
I've lost count of the number of times that we've totally wasted the first half of games with our lack of urgency and desire to drive forward and pressurise opponents. The time we take with our distribution and transition from the back and with free kicks, throw-ins and corners is overly slow and games subsequently pass without much incident or entertainment because we have very little momentum.
Poor formation, tactics and starting players out of position, when there are better options available on the bench, have only exacerbated things and we've looked like one of the poorest teams in the league, under both Ross and Maloney, for worryingly too long now.
Something has to change and fast.

Apologies it's actually 16 points from our last 18 matches so even worse. Dundee have picked up 15 points from the same amount of matches and they're bottom of the league so it's really quite abysmal stuff.
Over almost half a season's worth of games we're nearly bottom of the league which is a real concern.

Thankfully we had a very decent start to the season (result wise) which has given us a bit of a buffer against the dreadful run since late last year.

Fair enough I'm assuming "utter disaster" means relegation which I don't think we're in danger of. I do think if we finish like 9th and lose next Sunday then the board has a real decision to make.
The one thing that Ron Gordon and Ben Kensell really understand is income and when season ticket renewal time comes round in about 5 or 6 weeks' time, if we're out the cup and plummeting down the league I think the board will be forced to act.

it’s frankly ridiculous that we’re still 5th and so close to 4th after a run like that.
it doesn’t reflect well on the league at all

No, it really isn't.
Zero goals in four of our last five league games, and one in extra time against Cove Rangers in the cup, suggests we have a reason for concern
I said to my sister at the game that I dreaded the thought of St Mirren scoring a goal as I couldn't see us doing likewise.

We are creating chances but it’s clearly preying on players minds We can’t keep saying but there goalie played a blinder
If the players are buying into Maloney s training and philosophy on how to play the game you assume our luck will turn But the longer we go without winning it become a bad habit
Worryingly Goodwin said hibs changed things at half time and caused us problems It took us ten minutes to adjust
If we are only getting small periods where we are on top we need to score during these periods and cut out errors at the back If the style of play snd system are causing players to make these mistakes ,Maloney needs to be more pragmatic to get some wins
I really don’t want to end up in bottom six at the split

:agree:
At the back we look a bit pedestrian. From midfield forward we look rushed and hurried.
We created a little bit on Saturday but very little real quality - the kind of chances where a goal looks almost inevitable. For me the shape is a problem because in some areas of the pitch our players seem to be tripping over each other, leaving wide open spaces elsewhere.
I’m sure there is method behind all this but I’m really struggling to see what it is at the moment.

Can we ask the Huns to move the goalposts about 12" to the right?
It will make sure that Nisbet hit the net rather than the post!!!
