Hi all hoping for a bit of advice.

Looking to book a venue / hall / club for my folks 50th wedding anniversary in a few weeks.
Somewhere that holds approx 60 and allows kids. Bowling clubs not really an option as you need to know a member. Any advice would be appreciated 👍🏻

I’m a bowling club member and know you 😉
My club is at Currie so probably a bit too far for you but there will be other bowlers on here who may help.

I’m going to Queen Charlotte Rooms on Saturday, been a few times and always enjoyed it.

Beach Lane social club in Portobello is OK. It's a Masonic club which might put people off but been to a couple of things there and can't fault it.

Other end of the town Charowood up at Buckstone has a large private function area.

Finally we had my mums 60th in McLarens at Holy Corner. They have a private attic room which holds about 50-60. Child friendly and couldn't really fault it.

Prestonfield golf club is a great venue. Near the city centre and has a great club house with a veranda over looking the golf course and Arthur's Seat. Not sure on the rules for hiring but I'm not a member and have hired out half the bar area for a few years for a fantasy league auction.

Bar staff and food have been great too.

Try contacting the secretary if interested.

Preferably the west side of town however perhaps more importantly getting somewhere child friendly would be ideal.
