Last night was positive, so my intention is not to lower the tone and more to have a constructive conversation about the FF stand, particularly the lower.
The isn’t a dig at anyone with a ST there either.
Last night the FF and in particular the FFL had huge gaps despite the game being sold out. Not only sold out, but with ticket exchange available for over a week.
If there was a game absent ST holders were going to attend, surely it was this one? Not only that, ticket exchange only had a couple dozen available yesterday (I checked and bought a couple) therefore a lot didn’t bother to hand the tickets back.
I reckon 3-400 across the lower and maybe half that in the upper. It was so visual and hence the Hearts lot singing “what a *****y home support” shortly after kick off, pointing at the stand.
I’m not clued up on the ticket structure in FF.
Are there really cheap STs available?
Do we have a potential issue some fans are abusing that offering by buying up cheap STs and rarely using them?
Do Hibs have the ability to monitor those STs rarely used?
Again, I’m aware the vast majority of ST holders in the FF (4k capacity stand?) are turning up most weeks, so it isn’t a dig; however surely no one can defend what we’ve continued to see in terms of sporadic attendance for many seasons?
What’s the future?
Change of pricing structure?
Singing section?
Change feels needed, but we need to engage and respect those who have been there for many, many years and do attend.

Playing at home should give us all the advantages but we give the advantage away in the big games when the away team play to a full stand and we play to a half full stand

Thought it filled up pretty well once the game started - seemingly delays in getting in.
Was the busiest Ive saw it in a long while

It did fill up. Still some empty seats but it was similar in the East. Is it because the FF lower is more noticeable?

Filled up quite well after 5 minutes, we're obviously queues outside.
Additionally "if there was a game absent ST'S would attend it would be this one"
A family stand, kicking off just before 8, kids not in bed till at least 11, on a Tuesday....I actually think the opposite to you here. I was surprised and happy at the attendance in the FFL.
Feels like people just like to have pops at it every match now

Huge queues outside at kick off time

Surprising that there was gaps in the away end too. There was easy 200 seats empty in our end. Which I’m sure could have been re sold if the owners of the seats could be arsed doing it.

Last night was all the proof Ben and Ron needed the the FFL isn't working. Ample opportunity for folk to make money off their season tickets and there were still big spaces. Hibs like to shoot into the FF in the second half but we get absolutley no advantage from it.

The lower FF looked poor at kick off but later on I noticed it looked not to bad, just the odd seat hear and there. I put it down to kids all wanting there pizzas and stuff prior to kick off and the queues outside.

I’ll admit one of our 3st was empty last night. I was there with my 15yo son but it’s too cold and late getting home for my younger daughter.
I will say I could’ve sent that ticket for the ticket exchange but didn’t get round it, will try to do so in future.
I do think a lot of the empty seat in the lower are younger children seats and likely for the same reason as I’ve described above.

I, like many others, was actually surprised at “how busy” the F5 stand was. To even think that in a derby speaks volumes.
Total revamp required in the whole stadium as that stand is just laughable most, if not every, game.

Problem with a turnstile not working in the Ff lower , stand was pretty much full 25 mins into the game .

The annoying part is Hibs aren’t planning to change anything in this section next season.
Why they can’t explore it who knows ?
I’ve gone on about it long enough but a full safe standing section behind the goals would the atmosphere at ER even better.
It was good it more busy but expect it to be pretty empty again on Saturday.

Was in FFL (3 seasons - one of which I’d upgraded from a child season ticket to adult ticket as I didn’t want to take my 7 yo daughter). Issues getting in but overall 10 mins after KO didn’t think it looked any different t from other parts of the ground. Personally, felt there were loads of positives in terms of supporter ‘experience’ last night. Albeit the middle finger banner in the away end should have been removed by stewards.

As others have already mentioned, a midweek game (even if it is a Derby) is always going to result in kids STs not being used as has been covered already.
I’m wondering as a first step if Hibs could remove the restriction of you having to buy a concession ticket for the FFL. This seems the best solution for now as a ‘quick win’. Those with kids could still benefit from the cheaper kids tickets, there seems to be more than enough capacity to cover any walk ups with kids that would want to sit there but might help increase the overall attendance in that part of the ground if people who are going by themselves or without kids could buy tickets for that part of the ground?
Do we think that would be a good first step?

I was in FF Upper and sold my sons ticket on ticket exchange but no one came and sat in the seat. Hes only 2 and a half so can't do night games. The 17.50 in his account will go towards next year's season ticket.
If we had a few big games per year at night I could use ticket exchange to sell his ticket he could almost go to the rest of the games for free

Same with me. My younger son didn't come, but my older one did.
Put his seat up for resale and it didn't get taken.

I think it’s probably still older vulnerable fans like me concerned about getting covid. I gave my seat to my nephew’s Hibby pal. Maybe some older fans not quite with it re the ticket exchange and like me aren’t too fussed about getting a rebate - want the club to keep the money

We were getting slated on the socials last night for the empty seats. I'm starting to annoy myself never mind you lot repeating myself so sorry but the FFL bouncing with a ultras section would be brilliant. Aberdeen have got it spot on with their "red shed". Just looks appealing and the place to be if you were a youngster. Great way to grow your support. I wanted to go the old east when i was a youngster as it was mental. I was hooked. Thats what it's all about.

Even with the empty seats (and it did fill up into the game), there were still more people inside Easter Road than could fit into Tiny.

I actually thought the Famous Five stand was fine last night once everyone who had obviously been stuck outside were in their seats.

Huge gaps? Maybe at kick off but as said, there were huge queues outside until after the game started. It was as full as I’ve seen it in a long time. A few empty seats once everyone was in but certainly not huge gaps.

Few photos doing the rounds well into the game. There’s a few hundred empty in the lower. Whether that constitutes “huge” is a matter of opinion I guess.

I'm in a group of three in that stand, one adult and two teens (nephews)
One of them wasn't allowed to go because he has prelims and the other one wasn't feeling well.
Nothing we could do about that and I put the tickets up for sale, but they didn't sell

I think there is a bit of unfair stick landed at ST holders in the lower FF, I have 4, myself, my dad and my 2 boys 5+3. My self and dad where there last night but a night game for 2 young boys is never going to happen when they are young.
The whole point is allowing cheeper tickets for young kids it’s to get them interested and hopefully they become hooked for life. But as anyone who has young kids knows they won’t want to go every week and the also have very good social life’s so they can’t go every week.
I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t aware of the ticket exchange or would possibly have used it.
No problem with people wanting the family area moved but it is the key area to keep the next generation of fans coming.
Last night it seemed about full from within it, once we got in late.
