Surely 1 or 2 of the development team could be given a chance to freshen things up?
Celtic brought a 16 year old on yesterday don’t buy this too young / not ready argument.

Not the time at all.

Campbell, JDH, Doig and Henderson are young...

I think it’s a bit too moany/toxic to throw untried youngsters in at the moment.

I do wonder why Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee United & St Mirren have all gave minutes and starts to 16 and 17 year olds this season. Yet none of our youngsters, who are apparently highly rated, have even made the bench this season. What’s unique about the challenges we face blooding youngsters?

Young players are better coming into good sides. Like Porteous did into Lennons team, and Doig did under Ross.

Chucking them in now would be rough IMO. Maybe next season when we have a bit more direction.

We don’t have a development team, we have an under 18s team made up of 16/17 year old boys.

As much as we could really do with a commanding and competent keeper, I think he's maybe a bit old now 😁😉

Jeez, I'm the opposite, we're dying for 3 x 32 year old experienced players in the team, a Bartley, somebody to help protect the defence and pass the ball to somebody who can do something with it.

Did that with Campbell and there’s now a thread saying he’s not good enough.
We used to give our young players a lot more time and latitude to get things right.

Who do you suggest stepping up that would improve things? Only a sensible option if we had these players available. And freshen things up? We had four new signings playing in the game yesterday.

Worst timing you could get so no. Let’s not overreact 6 games in.

Not the time at all.

Agree. Now is the time for experienced midfielders, not promising and inexperienced youngsters.

Was it not Dundee Utd who brought on the 16 year old yesterday?

Only Laidlaw I think last season. Brydon in Europe at the start of the season

Bradley is you consider him an academy player, came on against Celtic 2 weeks ago, hasn’t been seen since

I’m on their twitter, not obvious how old he is but said he’s the 12 academy graduate to play a premiership game this season, that’ll include older players too who came through the academy I suppose

Celtic definitely brought a 16 year old on, second youngest ever in their club history.

I’d like to see one or two make the bench now and again, but happy to let them progress. Most are still in their mid teens.
