3rd place is gone already, there's no way we're making up a 12 point gap over the last 15 matches of the season.

Honestly I’m more worried about securing 5th or 6th place than anything else …as you say not a chance of 3rd.

Yeah, that's a worry but if Maloney can get the team playing the right way we can catch them. We look lost at the moment though.
We have talented players why don't know how to play at the moment.
You can see I'm trying to be optimistic [emoji1]

Only Celtic, Rangers and Hearts have more pts than Livi over the last 15 matches.
Only Dundee Utd, Dundee and St J have less than Hibs over the last 15 matches.

Tam McManus mentioned on commentary today that Livi had won 4 out of previous seven before today . We`re going to have to improve to make top 6 . I realise top 6 is not considered to be any great achievement but to make top 5 ( 5th will mean Europe if one of top 4 wins cup or we do hopefully ) we have to make top 6 first .

It wouldn't surprise me if Livi finish above us. They have a pragmatic and proactive manager who plays to his player's strength. They all look like they know what their job is. Maloney really needs to get some pragmatism into his thinking and play to the strengths of our players while working towards his vision. IMO he will never get there but may well have success even if he doesn't. If he continues to try and get players doing things that don't come naturally to them or the way most have played throughout their careers and most of who are not good enough for that style it will only end one way and at this rate fairly quickly.

Could easily finish 4th this season . Ideally we`d beat them in Scottish Cup quarterfinal this year .

A provincial team like Livi always have to punch the proverbial
Thats a worry when they can score 3 goals away at ER
Midweek Derby is the acid test if ever

Cup is huge. The bonus of guaranteed group stage football is something we can’t allow another side to benefit from. Hugely difficult task but one we need to meet head on. 4th should be the minimum target also.

Won 1
Drawn 1
Lost 6
4 points from 24
Mastermind Martindale now though
Shows you the possible benefits of keeping stability
Interestingly over the past 10 games we are 5th in the form guide, only 3 points behind hearts

We could forget about 3rd when we sold Boyle. The best thing I could do is tell you you put your mortgage on a Hearts win on Tuesday. My tips are usually pish BTW so we live in hope!

Hugely difficult task but one we need to meet head on. 4th should be the minimum target also.Agree that cup is important but reality is that match in Arbroath will be very difficult for us just as it would have been for any other team in our league including OF . European qualification also important ( our minimum target each year I suppose ) though suspect benefits are greatly exaggerated - very few players if any will sign for Hibs / Hearts /Motherwell etc because of chance of a few games against unknown European teams . Add in poor results in league games after Europe and benefits are not so clear . That said , our ambition each year will be qualifying for Europe so still important .

Cup win plus financial benefits of group stage football would be huge to improving our squad. If hearts end up with that the gap could end up huge.

Results show that the Jambos are likely to win comfortably, but for some unknown reason the bookies have us as clear favourites. Nonsense.

A year ago people here were talking about possible financial benefits for us if we`d made groups but numbers were always vague . We should always hope to qualify for Europe but also be realistic - Scottish teams will lose money with travel etc for many ties , results and crowds will suffer after midweek Euro matches , almost no players will sign for Hibs / Hearts /Aberdeen / St J etc cause of outside chance of odd European match

They are strange, and it I was a jambo or neutral I’d be inclined to think 2/1 is very pricey.
Was talking to an Aberdeen fan today and we were both on about derby form often turning on its head/me reflecting on amount of times I’ve watched hibs go in as favs, control the game, and get stung.
Yes.. this is what I’m holding on to approaching Tuesday.
