They get a hard time quite a bit and usually rightly so. but credit to them this afternoon for correcting that penalty decision

Was a very good call from the linesman and maybe just me but did look like a pen from the refs angle.

Credit for that, should have had a penalty ourselves though.

Why didn’t the linesman raise his flag though?
Seems like if Macey and Porteous didn’t force them to speak by going so radge it would have been given.
Not complaining but i would be going mental if that was against us.

Was a horrendous call from the ref in the first place, and it was a stonewaller up the other end.

I think he shat giving us the penalty because of his howler some 10 minutes earlier

No idea how the ref gave it. You could see from the direction of the ball that macey punched it.

Thought that at the time, but I'm at the other end of the West so I'm not a reliable witness.
I did get a good view of Mitchell being pushed over.

The ref couldn’t wait to give it. Linesman got it right in the end but that felt like unless the players went over to the linesman then the ref would’ve stuck by it.

I was expecting Macey to get booked for the length of time he spent protesting.

We are in the corner and we were giving the linesman pelters for his lack of getting involved in a decision that was totally wrong. My guess is that us in the corner(1%) and Macey complaining vehemently(99%) got the decision changed. It was never a penalty and a dreadful decision by the referee

Never looked like a pen from where I was in the FF ...... But fair play to the officials for changing the decision, such a rare event in our fitba I could barely believe what I was seeing. In fact so rare I seem to recall the last time it happened at ER a female assistant ref was involved and it must have been at least 5 years ago, maybe longer.

Don’t think he needs to - aren’t they miked up to each other?
I thought the officials were refreshingly decent yesterday.

I'm sure you are right. I thought at the time it was because of Macey that the decision was changed.

Stupid question but, what was the offence the ref originally gave the penalty for?
:dunno:
