Central coast mariners in Oz apparently. Outstanding move if true, he’s obviously not a bad lad, bit daft so hopefully being away from his comforts will keep him on the straight and narrow and get focusing on his football.

I think I’d feel less homesick living in Australia than I would if I moved to Engurland 😁

He's older and it's a completely different environment. I got homesick the first time I lived abroad but I went back to it and I'm glad I did.

:agree: Just because he scored a few goals against Hearts seems to qualify him for another stint with us. Appreciate what he did for us but right now we need better.

Sadly Jason isn't SPFL level, he might do well in Australia as the defences over there are not great, hence to higher than normal goal average for that league (for recent seasons anyway).

Like it did down south videos of him smashing up his flat etc. Can’t see him changing to be honest.

Leaving the British football system and way of life completely. Not saying it’s a guarantee to make a difference but I like the fact he’s trying something completely outside the box rather than the same old bouncing around clubs up here.

I agree, and and pretty sure Jason will love his time here.

He’s moving to a nice area with beaches and sunshine, which is in the Greater Sydney Area so he’s only an hour and a bit from the centre of Sydney.

Jamie MacLaren is scoring for fun out here…partly.due in no small measure to the marking being much less close out here than in Scotland, and Jason will revel in the time he gets on the ball.

Only problem I see for him is he is unlikely to get the service that Jamie does, but then again it’s not unknown for Jason to score from outside the box.

The Oz Hibbies are already discussing their welcome for him, so let’s see how he goes.

As someone who came out for two years, and is still here after 47, I reckon he’ll take to Oz just fine.

There was definitely a period where I would have taken him back (even as recently as this season) but I can see the club have set their standards a bit higher which is encouraging from our POV.

All I'd say now is that I genuinely hope he finds some happiness in his life and in his football out in Australia, away from the media, away from perhaps some daft hangers on that enable some of his behaviour. It's a great chance for him to start again without any baggage.

All the best Jason. Will certainly keep an eye out for your results.

The Central Coast is a magic place to set up home, sure he will be a good player for them, think he may also be an Aussie Citizen, best of luck to this cup winning legend. Happen to also think that perhaps Boyle may head down under at some time as well.

Roy O’Donovan was top scorer for this team one year so that shows you standard of defending .
If he’s switched on he will score plenty .

Hopefully get along to see him play soon - Mariners play in Sydney this weekend but not sure if he’ll be ready by then .
Their home ground is only an hour up the road from my gaff

I know the A League fairly well and I think people still see it as an easy league, which is not a fair reflection I don't think.

He needs to screw the nut and focus on his game and he has shown no real ability or desire to do this to date, he is wandering into last chance saloon for his career.

The standard is getting considerably weaker .
Less money and COVID restrictions on imports have had a real impact on ability to get good recruits from overseas .
Many of the better players particularly at Sydney FC are getting past it but nobody near the standard to replace them .
Nincovic , Bobo and Wilkinson being obvious examples

This seems to have happened quite quickly. My son bumped into him in Tescos only last week, and he said he was out of Dundee but had no idea where he was going next (he said Hibs wouldn't have him back!). Apparently he was really friendly and happy to have a chat my my son and his pal - they wished him all the best as a Hibs legend, and I'm happy to extend those wishes to his career in Aus. He's still young enough to go on to do great things.

The boy came from hearts and gave his all for Hibs. Scored many goals and gave us a lot of entertainment.

If he had went to the Huns from us maybe wouldn't like him as much but even though he played for them I still like him as a player.

Hope he knuckles down and has a good season.
