Was reading club website and out of curiosity clicked on spnsorship section . In part about Hibs TV it states " Hibs TV is viewwd in all majority territories across the world with main countries being US , Australia , Canada and Sweden " . Was surprised to see Sweden mentioned . Any particular reason why there`d be people watching Hibs TV in Sweden ? Fans who took an interest after Malmo 2013 ? A few pubs ( Pearce`s for example ) near Easter Road now Swedish - owned ?

The Swedish pub group (when I say group, I think it's just 1 lady) have owned pubs in Edinburgh since way before we played in Malmö.

The Swedish Hibernian Supporters Club (SHSC) was founded in the spring of 2007, and have to this date around 1200 members.
The members are mainly Swedish citizens, but we got some emigrated Scottish and Irish members as well. The one thing we got in comon though is are love for Hibernian FC.
The Supporter Clubs main purpose is to gather people with the same passion in a big Swedish network. But we also arrange pub nights, watch games together and arrange travel (a trip to Edinburgh this spring is planned)

Used to bump into a guy from Norway at Games. He had a season ticket and tried to get across to as many games as possible. I think there is a supporters club in Norway as well. The Norwegian guy had an encyclopediac knowledge of the club.

OMG that's some size of membership.

I'd never have guessed that Sweden was a Hibby hotspot.

I think you might be right, I'm sure I've heard of something to do with Hibs in Norway, maybe somebody on here would know?

That's some size of a branch! Great to hear of the Hibees gospel being spread far and yonder. A thought - could the Swedes have an affinity to Hibs because of their dislike of near root vegetable relatives "the Yams"? Also - anyone know what a majority territory is???

As far as I know, the Swiss branch of the Hibs fraternity numbers about 2 or 3 🤣

I walked into a Swedish pub in Potugal and asked them if they could put Dundee v Hibs on Sky. They directed me nicely to the Bull Dog bar across the road. I asked there and the English said oh okay then. We won 4 3 Kenny Miller getting the winner. So Sweden doesnt get me excited.

We have a small supporters club here in Finland. It consists of 3 of us who live in Helsinki and one who lives way up in Lapland - all Scots.

Curiously though, I saw this chap on Finnish TV one day. I looked him up and he's the head of an independent punk record label with a massive interest in football culture. He took a liking to us apparently!

Happy to see Sweden mentioned. I’m a hibs TV subscriber, having moved over here 4 years ago.

A popular football podcast here recently had a two-parter on the cup winning season. Had quite a few friends and colleagues here in Stockholm eager to chat about Hibs since it came out:

1200 members in Sweden is very impressive . The vast majority probably never see matches even on telly but club obviously think it`s worth mentioning Hibs TV viewers in Sweden ( who may not be in this 1200 ) in their sponsorship section . There are probably more lifelong Hibs fans in Norway cause of North Sea offshore workers based in Stavanger .
I don`t think club publish Hibs TV International Season Ticket numbers or specify countries where members live . Also I suppose many Hibs fans pay to watch match highlights .

I feel I should also point out that there are definitely Hibs fans in Malta, and not just Hibernians fans, I met a couple of them who were season ticket holders at a friendly a few years ago.

There was a Swedish fellah Jerry who used to post on here I think and definitely on the Bounce.
He and his muckers sorted out reduced prices in The Dubliner in Gothenburg for us when over for the Elfsborg game. The Bounce fellahs will know more about it as they organised a bus from the pub to the game. They were big GAIS fans (nice colours).

There was a tie in with the folk that run a bar in Malmo too but I can’t remember it’s name…
