Should that be read that there's then going to be a winter break after the 7th of January/after that spell of 5 games in 15 days?

If not, I wonder if that will be the time they silently get rid of the winter shutdown. It got fudged this year for Covid, it'll get switched to pre-xmas for the WC, then by 23/24 season they'll just not bother.

The winter break is when the World Cup is on

There won’t be enough support for scrapping it long term. The teams that can afford to get away somewhere warm are always going to be happy to get that opportunity.

I’m sure some of teams will use part of the 4 week break, to get away to a warmer climate

Whilst moaning about the fixture congestion before and after the break and complaining about the impact it has on players............
