Not sure if a shop window, but I think he's testing out what he's got in what's really just a free hit.

Scott's not ours to sell (thankfully) but take your point.

The word I just used to a message I sent my mate, two good results against tough teams, up against Celtic tonight away free hit.. game not expecting to win

Not in my opinion. They are just about all players that we could expect to play a part tonight, whether from the start or off the bench. Scott is the only one we haven’t really seen play recently, Wright had a good game against United and many would have argued his place tonight and the others play about every game when available?

You missed Scott Allan from the list but same as above applies.

Don’t see how bringing the subs (that are considered fit and ready) we have available onto the pitch is anything to do with shop windows.

The job is a long term project, not expecting miracales from the start.

Plenty to play for - keep winning run going for starters. Could you imagine any top manager saying to his players its a free hit?!

Scott getting on ahead of Doidge the strangest.

Doidge surely away soon, which I can't say I'd be happy about.

Agreed, there's a place for a player like Doidge in any team

No it's not.
Wright has been a disaster and Newell and JDH are never going to contribute much.
Sell them back to Rotherham and St Mirren.

Again, thought Wright wasn't too bad at all. Same with JDH towards the later part in the game when it was already done.

Is Doidge out of contract this summer? If so I'll guess he's off.

Might be wrong but I thought he'd signed a new contract.

For me he started what he thought was his best eleven and 65-70 minutes in he realised alot were having poor games and he thought it was a good chance to try others out.

I don’t believe for a second he thought it was a free hit, doesn’t strike me as that type of guy. He would have been wanting a result.

He realised the guys weren’t going it so thought he would give others a chance which is fair

Interesting Doidge still never got on. Unless he knows what he’s got with him and is happy. Would explain why Mueller never got on too.

I know we’re your coming from but as a hibs fan just feels that way, now I think about it SM wound have had game plan which didn’t work when KN missed and Campbell gave that ball away.but just too many people with depressing thoughts

You're spot on. Signed an extension late last year until 2024. Really surprised he didn't feature at all tonight though.

His subs and first 11 certainly had some bizarre choices in there. I'd like to think he didn't expect Doig at LCB and Campbell at LWB to work. With Stevenson on the bench and Doidge not getting any game time, even Scott getting on ahead of him...

I'm fully onboard with Maloney trying a new style of play and he needs time and new players, I just don't quite get some of his decisions today.

Agree with you, some of the decisions were strange but he had to start with a bad hand of cards. The defence looked hopeless at first but Rocky came on to a game and it got a bit better. Nisbet was terrible again and it’s worrying that Diodge or Mueller didn’t get on. Mueller is a real concern as there is absolutely no reason he shouldn’t be fit enough for a 20 minute run out.

We lost 2 nil at Celtic with huge team absences so it’s not the end of the world.

Second game in a row that Drey Wright has been decent and shown that he may still yet have a place in the team and although JDH and Newell can't play together because they're too similar, they also both are better when they have a player like Magennis next to them that can drive forward whilst they retain and recycle possession.

Murphy for all I lambast him was OK tonight.

Tonight should have been about having the best possible team out there at all times. Cove Rangers on Thursday is an opportunity to give fringe players a shot at impressing.

But does Wright get judged by a different standard?

He was so bad in previous appearances that as long as he doesn’t just repeatedly give the ball away, but do little else some deem him to have had a good game.

He won’t surely be away soon. He’s recovering from 3 months out and needs to get up to speed. Plenty of games to go including one in 2 days time.

Last night was not the game for him to make an impact.

Disagree Cove is a very tricky time against a decent winning team. Need a good team to beat them.

We’re not that good enough a side to play fringe players in any cup tie unfortunately. I’m expecting the strongest team available to be lining up on Thursday.

Agreed. Underestimate Cove at our peril. Strongest team available for me. We must get to at least the Semi of the Scottish Cup. In fact, no reason why we shouldn't get to another final.

If Doidge doesn’t get any game time on Thursday, I would start to believe the exit rumours…and not truly understand the rationale tbh….and yes, this is a dangerous game. It has to be full side.

Bizarre positions for a couple, Campbell at left wingback and then Bradley there, with Bradley playing wide right most if not all his career, a leftie who cuts in.

I think it was a case of seeing how this team coped under pressure and evaluating what he really needs. I think we agree there's too many bang average players here who disappear under pressure all too often, this cost Ross his job, a big rebuild for Maloney and money needed.

You seem really pissed off with your fellow fans Flash?

What's up?

Last night you were predicting anyone that might not be entirely happy with Maloney would be all over the board with 'told you sos', now it's digs about, well, I'm not entirely sure!

Have you turned into one of these super positive fans that see's no wrong? Or are you just being grumpy having a dig to pass the time?!

I mean, 7.30 in the morning is pretty early to start arguing isn't it? Or maybe it's not? I don't want a fight!
