There have been quite a few posts noting that some of our fans like to moan a lot and not giving players a chance etc so I was thinking, which team has the moaniest fans. From personal experience and listening to fans at games on tv, my nomination would be St. Mirren, what do others think?

I would have to agree. They were one of the worst run clubs in Scotland over the Budge years. Millions and millions of £££ (of their own money!!!) poured down the sinkhole and for what? A hugely unsatisfactory stadium development and a relegated team. Very little protests from them really.

One of my favourite memories of being with my dad was one of the first games I remember going to with him.
It must have been 1978 and Hibs were playing St Mirren at Easter Road, we had just beaten them and a St Mirren fan (no segregation then) standing near us bellowed out to all that could hear him “You just f**** wait until we beat yous at Love Street ya b*******!!!!
Since then I’ve had all St Mirren fans as the moaniest in Scotland

Very little protests from them really.To be fair, One of them did once kick what looked like a Russian hat - the ultimate protest against an owner who was running their club into the ground, stealing millions and dragging their reputation even lower than it already was.

It was the Scottish Cup semi final we lost which really pissed me off with them. Also remember sitting in the car after the play off defeat and some of their mob were in the window giving the big one, soon **** it when I opened the door.

Glad to see them suffering, hopefully liquidation at some point.

St Johnstone. Sat in a mixed family stand with my boys when Sauzee scored the low free kick into the corner. The adults moaned all game about the team and their ref. All fans are similar when things not going their way. Celtic bad at taking a defeat blame everything except their team. The world conspired against them.

I think this is a very good point.

Not at the more nefarious end of the scale that I think you are alluding to, but I'm always staggered by how Real Madrid fans react to Gareth Bale these days - signed 8 years ago, has won 13 major honours, including the Champions League in four of this first five seasons there - scoring three goals in finals, including possibly the greatest ever.

Should be revered - but bizarrely, seems to be disliked intensely.

As a wee boy I used to go to the games and just people watch. There was definitely a large minority who loved to moan and abuse players if they made mistakes. The very same people would be eerily silent when the team was doing well. Some people just like or need to moan.

I have to think we are up there, as some of our support cant wait to moan and berate the players and manager. On line abuse of the team is terrible and has a detrimental affect on performance.

Falkirk, without a doubt. I stay in Falkirk and over the years I have taken in a few of their games. They moan at everything and talk the biggest load of ***** I've ever heard at a football match. Nothing pleases them.
