Anyone know when tickets are likely to go on sale for the qualifier vs Ukraine at Hampden in March?

Meant to be next 7 days but unless you're a SSC member I don't think you've much of a chance, even they are only being offered 1 per person supposedly.

It's always only 1 per member mate. I've been in the SSC for a few years. It stops people buying 1 membership between 2.
I think there's about 30000 members at the moment so there'll be a general sale of some sort.
The best seats will be taken by SSC members but there'll be some left in the East & West

I think they'll probably offer the tickets as part of a package with the Nation's League games in the first instance. There'll be a window for SSC members and then the rest will go on general sale.
This isn't confirmed anywhere but has been mentioned on some of the SSC social media pages I'm on

Will be interesting how they will assign the tickets for the final if we get there.
I joined the SSC last year and also bought a junior subscription for my son. Are we suggesting it would only be one ticket or two in total so we could both go?
Also I assume there will be some sort of points system for the regular supporters?

Pretty sure you’ll get both if you both have memberships that entitle you to a ticket. And as far as I’m aware there’s no points system in place for Scotland games.. general sale will be exactly that when it comes.
Having said that I usually get my tickets through the SSC as there’s always people from our travel group who can’t make it or spares going some way or another… so I could be talking complete nonsense above.

1 point for each home game attended for last 10 games
2 points for each away game fir last ten games
1 point for renewing early IIRC
1 point for long term members IIRC
Total possible points currently 32.
They used to cap membership at 30k, meaning tickets were guaranteed for members. That’s no longer the case but think membership is still around 30k anyway so all members will get a ticket for home games at Hampden.

In the away end? Probably very limited, as they only sell ticket to members and I reckon they'll be asking most, if not all, people to collect the tickets in person. If you know someone in Ireland you are probably better asking them to see if they can get you some for the home section.

You’ll have no problem. 52k in Hampden (minus away fans and corporate) still way more than the 30k SSC members.

I think the cap is 35k before members wouldn’t all be guaranteed a ticket but that’s presumably based on the away team bring a full allocation which is 4/5k? I’d be surprised if Ukraine bring half of that in March.

We'd likely be attending all the home games anyway.Well, it'll mean you have the chance of getting a ticket for the away end, rather than none, as only members can apply. It really depends on how many tickets we'll get and how many folk will go.
They will open it up to those with the highest points first (looking at how many tickets we get and match that against how far down the points they can go to guarantee that everyone in those groups would be guaranteed a ticket if they wanted one) and give these members a limited time to apply. Then, if there are tickets left, they will go to the next group/s with fewer points and so on until all tickets are sold. I would be very surprised if it got down to zero points, but it has happened, albeit generally for countries where greater travel is involved.

Dublin on a Saturday in June for a competitive game will attract a very large support…10k maybe? We’ll get the small end which is around 3k tickets. Recon you’ll need around 12 points to get a ticket.

I've only been to 2 of the last 10 away games (albeit I went to all the home games), but that was enough to guarantee me tickets for the 3 Euro 2020 games. It's difficult to get on the ladder, as it were, but if you go to a game with less demand (I went to Albania) or where we get more tickets (Belgium) then that starts you off and gets you into a more favourable position for future trips.

Covid has made it more difficult to get points in the bag but it’s normally fairly easy, especially now you get points for home games too. Most away games go to zero points and believe me, making the effort to get to the more obscure away games rather than the popular trips like Dublin, London, Cardiff, Brussels etc is worth the extra effort.

SSC email out. Amazing prices TBH…..
Scotland Supporters Club members will get the first chance to secure tickets for the hotly-anticipated FIFA World Cup play-off match against Ukraine and the 2022 UEFA Nations League fixtures when they go on sale at the end of January.
Head Coach Steve Clarke and his players will want the same backing that saw two capacity crowds watch Scotland win their last two home matches against Denmark and Israel – part of a run of six consecutive wins for the side to end last year on a high.
Scotland fans have four home matches to look forward to in 2022, with Ukraine up first in the crucial World Cup Play-off in March, followed by Nations League fixtures at Hampden against Armenia and Ukraine in June, and the Republic of Ireland in September.
Member match package sale: 31 January | 10am
Member single match sale: 14 February | 10am
Public Sale: 28 February | 10am

SSC members will be able to purchase four match packages from 10am on Monday, 31 January from as little as £20 for children to attend all four matches:

- Adult four-match packages for Scotland Supporters Club members from just £72
- South and North stand four-match packages for just £92 for Scotland Supporters Club members

Anybody having issues buying tickets? My partner joined the online queue, got in, selected two tickets, she then picked me from the drop down list from the friends and family list to assign a ticket to me... net result it comes up with a price that's £20 more expensive for me and won't let us checkout saying I need to either have bought tickets before or be buying a SSC membership. I am a SSC member (joined at the same time as my partner). The email doesn't mention that you have to have bought tickets in your name before to be able to get a ticket.

It’s an awesome deal. We’ve managed to get ticket in the front row of the South Upper.
I’ve emailed the SFA asking to look into why I can’t buy tickets and to see if I can get the points transferred over to me from my girlfriend’s dad.
Wow that was stressful. The wait (90 mins) and the lack of availability everytime I went in. They opened up South Stand P4 when I kept losing out on two seats together. It’s more in the corner I would like but I will take it.

No, its for a four game package for the Ukraine play-off game and home 2022 Nations League games (Armenia, Ukraine and Ireland).
SSC members can then buy single tickets for the games from 14 Feb and then they go to general sale 28 Feb (10am).
As an update to my issue, I then joined the queue and could add a seat and get all the way through to entering payment info. Weird that it wouldn't let my girlfriend buy a ticket for me through the friends and family list.

I suspect it’s unlikely the Ukraine game will go ahead as planned given the military situation with Russia. All domestic football has been paused for minimum 30 days.
I know it’s very much secondary to the bigger issues, I am not sure UEFA could bump the games back given these are play offs there is European and domestic football crammed calendars. I suspect we will get a bye into the final game.

I can't say I know the Ukraine squad that well, but presumably most of them aren't based in Ukraine?
Its a one off tie at hampden, so beyond their players in the domestic league, the situation in Ukraine has nothing to do with the game (from a purely football view)

Could Yugoslavia 1992 Euros be used as a precedent, where Denmark got in due to the ongoing conflict in the Balkans? Not sure who would be next in line, but remember seeing a list of where we were standing before the Scotland v Denmark game, so should be easy to sort. Also, more unlikely to go ahead is Russia v Poland, due to be played in Moscow.

I can't say I know the Ukraine squad that well, but presumably most of them aren't based in Ukraine?
Its a one off tie at hampden, so beyond their players in the domestic league, the situation in Ukraine has nothing to do with the game (from a purely football view)
What about the coaching staff and backroom team?

They’ll say that they can’t focus on a game of football whilst they’re country is being invaded & countrymen are dying defending their country.
Might withdraw & whoever finished runner up to them might take they’re place, both games played away might help aswell

Obviously this is not the fault of Ukraine. When is the draw for the finals due to take place, maybe the game could be delayed a few weeks
Russia v Poland is another issue too, due to be played on the same day as the Scotland game

A pause in domestic football wouldn't stop them from picking a squad, or coaching them in Scotland though.
I see heisenberg has suggested that 16 of the squad play locally, in which case they are going to be seriously toiling to put together a match day squad.

And even if it would, neither country would have any available players in ‘a few weeks’. If it was going to be moved (it won’t) then the only time it could be played is in June and even that would be tricky as there are already 4 games then.
It seems unlikely they’ll be able to play and I wonder if there would even be enough time for another team to be drafted in to the playoffs so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Russia kicked out and Ukraine forfeit

Sadly I think Ukraine will concede the tie, it could be months or longer until the tie might take place.
Even at that it's only the semi and the final would have to take place as well.

Aye, you're right - some things are more important, so why would patronising them by conceding a game of football help the situation? Probably absolutely the last thing they'd want anyway.
Let them play and show their pride- I'm sure we'd find better ways of showing support if that happened.

They weren't suspended then, they competed at France 98 and Euro 2000.
Denmark took Yugoslavia's place at Euro 92, but that may have been due to the country breaking up, I'm not sure it was a reaction to any aggression during the civil war.

From what I've read it'll be similar to the Olympics – they can compete but can't use their flag, anthem etc and will have to come up with some name that's not just 'Russia' (like 'Russian Olympic Committee' at the Olympics).

I will bow to your superior knowledge HV but I still don't completely get it.
FIFA run the World Cup but it's like they "sub-contract" the qualifiers.
If Russia were banned from FIFA tournaments (as someone posted earlier in this thread) what is the point of them playing in qualifiers because if they qualified then they would surely be scored out the Finals run by FIFA because they're banned.

Subcontracting is a good way of describing it.
Per my earlier post, the eventual outcome of their "ban" was that they can compete but with restrictions on use of their flag etc: https://www.espn.com/olympics/story/_/id/30538012/russia-banned-using-name-flag-next-2-olympics
Russian athletes and teams will still be allowed to compete at next year's Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing, as well as world championships including the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, if they are not implicated in doping or covering up positive tests.
One small win for Russia is the proposed team name at major events. The name "Russia'' can be retained on uniforms if the words "Neutral Athlete'' or "Neutral Team'' have equal prominence, the court said.

Scotland could play Finland if Ukraine can't fulfil the World Cup play-off. Finland finished below Ukraine in Group D. Obvious precedent is 1992 Euros: Yugoslavia didn't play due to war, Denmark stepped in as next team from qualifying group (and won the trophy). UEFA to decide.

I think they should have been kicked out too. Someone told me that the money the Russians plow into UEFA is that much that they won’t ban them in case this stops.
If true then the Governments should very politely tell UEFA that they have to prove where that money originally came from or they may have their bank accounts frozen until it is proven.

The Scottish FA remain in talks with Uefa over March's World Cup play-off semi-final with Ukraine.
It had been hoped some clarity would be forthcoming after a Uefa meeting on Friday, which was sparked by Russia's invasion of the country.
However, it remains unclear if the fixture will go ahead as planned.
Steve Clarke's men's team are scheduled to host Ukraine on 24 March and Scotland's women are due to play a World Cup qualifier in Kyiv on 8 April.
The Scottish FA are also discussing the men's under-21 side's match in Kazakhstan on 29 March, given that travel there requires a flight through either Russian or Ukrainian airspace.
Clarke is due to name his squad on 15 March, with the winner of the semi-final progressing to the final on 29 March against either Wales or Austria.
