It was inevitable that stadiums would be allowed full capacity again from next week. Was really surprised at how many people had convinced themselves that stadiums would be shut for months.

I'm surprised they are paying their bills as their club has previous for stiffing people for money owed...

50% of attendees will need to be checked for their vaccination status at Easter Road and you'll also need to be boostered if your second dose was more than 4 months ago.

They wont. Previously it was 25% and very few got checked. No way can they check 50% without causing major delays. Clubs will say they've done it but in reality...

And that’s going to apply to the 65,000 or so going to Murrayfield ?

Every single person in front of me was checked going into the Motherwell game. Not that hard to do really to have the steward at each turnstile checking. Dunno how folk think it can't be done.

The original picture on the BBC story was the picture in the picture in the first post of this thread. The picture on the news article has now been changed, trying to inject a bit of humour into the thread at the expense of our neighbours As the picture has been changed clearly they must have complained.

Get ST holders to send in a screenshot of their pass.
There’s your 50% done.
I’m sure I’ll be told GDPR / Data Protection would stop this.

Looks like it. This week’s challenge for Hibees is to actually get your hands on a LFT. Good luck:rolleyes:

Because the clubs rolled over to have their tummies tickled for 20%. Sure as fate it’ll become 100% if they don’t make a stand now.

That's a complete waste of time unless stewards are equipped with scanners to physically test the QR code presented.

Yeh they just look at your phone and go okay your fine. Maybe they might have to do properly with scanners now which will take more time.

It should be easy enough to check fans who are queuing to get through the turnstiles without causing any delays.
The problem will be the fans who aren't prepared or want to moan at a minimum wage steward for doing something that the Scottish Government has demanded.

So the Scot govt say it is ok to go if you meet the vaccination/test requirements. The question, based on the levels of boosters and double vaccinations of adults in the lothians area, is whether a check of 50% of those attending is of much value?
Close to 100% of those over 50 in Edinburgh will have had two doses and of those around 90% will have then been boosted. The numbers for those in the 18 to 49 range with 2 doses will be between 65% to 87% not all will be eligible yet for the booster but of those that are maybe around half will have been boosted.
The govt will know these numbers across Scotland. According to their own interpretation presumably such vaccination limits risk enough to those individuals, and those they come into contact, for them to attend. In the context of the levels of vaccination a check of every second person seems disproportionate. However a check is likely to be waving a QR code or test text towards a disinterested steward. Asking the more ahem mature fan for evidence does seem pointless but you could take it as confirmation that you still look young.
Some might put the new requirement down as an exercise of being seen to do something and one that also might detract from any suggestion what it replaces was a bit of an overreaction.
I certainly hope this will begin progression to wider community immunity where we have to learn to live with some level of milder endemic infection. :agree:
