Good luck Jamie - don’t think you got the game time to really show what you can do - best of luck with Raith and your future [emoji106]

Hope he does well there. By all accounts Raith are trying to play. Are they the Fife Hibs?

They play some lovely stuff.
Wheels have come off recently, after being unbeaten in (?) 15. They do need a goalscorer.
Stanton, Gullan and the guy they have on loan from Rangers (Ben somebody?) will be good additions.

Personally I'd much rather Raith came up than Arbroath, ICT, Partick or Killie - so hopefully Jamie bangs in a few goals between now and the end of the season.
I'm not sure he ever really got a proper chance with us - but on the flip side there's been several managers who haven't rated him.
Hopefully he goes on to have a decent career.

Nothing against the boy, but I will be happy if we start to move on players who are not going to improve us. We have a few players in the squad, who are decent but who are not going to help us get into Europe or win trophies. I hope we are truly trying to upgrade the squad to win things.
Good luck Jamie

He’s coming back to haunt us in a cup tie isn’t he? Seems like a nice lad, deserves to be every week somewhere. Best of luck to him.

Always quite liked Rovers. Had some good days out at Stark's Park when we've played them there. Good luck to Gullan, he should do well there.

I always liked Gullan and hoped he'd kick on and become a regular for us. Hopefully he bangs them in for Raith and takes them up to the Premiership in May.

Thought he had numerous chances to show what he was about. Didn't take any of them.

Never really got a chance. One game here and there with 20/30 min cameos very occasionally isn't enough imo. Remember Jason Cummings took about half a season until he finally scored for us vs Hamilton in the play offs, always felt for a young striker/ winger he deserved a run of games to see if he could get up to speed.
Hope he does well!

I liked him but he never seemed to fit into the managers plans. Not sure why. I thought he had good movement, took up great positions and always tried to be positive. Wish him well and think he will do well for them.

Good luck Jamie Gullan - a good skillful player certainly but perhaps not prolific enough to force his way into this Hibs team. Raith sounds like a good move for him - somewhere he will play regularly be appreciated and have the chance to grow as a player.
He's here!

I often heard him talked of as one to watch out for by those who reguarly follow youth football. Guess it just underlines how hard it actually is to make the step-up to a regular first-team spot. What was lacking in the end?

Will do well at Raith, never got a run of games. Will be interesting to see how he does with regular starts.

Correct, 37 appearances for Hibs would also support that view. Not good enough he moved on and hope he kicks on and has a good career. Likely to be filed under Shaw, Fraser Murray, Welsh, Scott Martin etc.
Not been many we have let go that have went on to play at a level above Hibs.

To be fair, Booth and Wotherspoon won a double.
I don't think Gullan was quite the level we were looking for, although a lot of his appearances were 5 minute cameos, he got some cup goals when we looked out of ideas and I thought he caused St. Johnstone real problems when Boyle got suspended.

Have said this before, but given his nickname was Hammer, I don’t recall seeing Gullane having a shot from distance in any of the games that I saw him in - I had been looking forward to seeing some Jorg Albertz style strikes. In fact, the one goal I saw him score for us, was a beautiful guided finish against ICT in the cup.
Anyway, I wish him every success at Raith, it’s a good club and one he seems to be happy at.

He was given more of a chance than most considering how little he made of the game time he was given. To be fair to him I’m not sure he or any manager either here or at Raith has quite managed to pin down his best position, but the general consensus seems to be that he’s not an out an out striker. He’ll go on to do well probably hovering around the top of the championship/bottom of the premiership.
