Imagine if your three year old child is trying to say goodnight and they are suddenly, for the first time ever, having trouble getting the words out. Then they burst out and say, with a tear in their eye, 'I can't say anything'.

The same child, that you love so much, then struggles to speak all the way through primary school, high school and in their first job, despite having gone through endless child speech therapy sessions.

They're embarrassed that they struggle to speak and because of the stigma attached to stammering, and most likely also having been teased about it, they try their utmost to hide it... but invariably fail.

I'd like to encourage everybody to please watch this BBC video that attempts to highlight just how debilitating stuttering/stammering can be and how it affects peoples lives as a genuine, and often under appreciated, disability.
