Devastated to have to record the passing of Iain McAdam, lifelong Hibby and probably the finest bloke I have ever known. His friends in Section 14 of the West Upper will miss his wonderful humour, his good-natured rants - the Lennon years were a particular highlight - and his habitual doling out of tangerine segments and wine gums. We will miss his gregarious and generous company in Stratties and the Hibs Club.
One of his fervent wishes towards the end was to get back to his beloved ER with the kind help of @Power, but tragically it wasn't to be.
Iain, whom many will know from his days at Edinburgh Council's housing department or the Scottish Government's HR department, had many many friends and no enemies save that evil ******* cancer.
He was a loving husband to Rhona and devoted dad of Ruaridh and Kirsty.
His family and his friends are totally bereft.
RIP Iain. Your memory marches on.

I’ve known Iain for many years and worked beside him many years ago in the Housing Department. We were very good friends at that time and although we saw less of each other over the years as our career paths moved in different directions I often bumped in to him at games
A gem of a guy whom I will sadly miss
RIP my friend

RIP my friend. Worked beside Iain in the Scottish Government and a nicer man you couldn’t meet. An absolute gentleman and taken far too soon. Another great Hibby taken far too soon.

Oh FFS. This is awful news. Worked with Iain at the Scottish Executive as it was then and went to a few games with him but always had a discussion about the weekend’s match come Monday. Saw him in the early days of lockdown a few times when I was walking the dog. Was great to catch up after so long and was wondering only last week that I hadn’t seen him since those days. A warm funny man and a passionate Hibs man to his core. RIP to one of the good guys and all good thoughts to family and close friends.

Ian was a great friend to me and my family for many many years. always supportive through bad times an a good friend through out every time.
A kind and loving man who adored his wife and family. He will be missed by his many pals. He's one that has been taken far too soon.

So sad to hear this. I was just thinking about Iain the other day. I too used to work with him in HR at the Scottish Government for a couple of years and he was a fantastic colleague, making me feel very welcome. I'm glad that even after I left I used to bump into him and chat about all things Hibs. RIP.

I was at Tynecastle School with Iain and got to know him quite well. We drifted after school but occasionally chatted at Hibs games. A popular boy at school and so sorry to hear this news.
RIP Iain
