So with spectators reduced to 500, do we think Hibs will hold another ballot or do we think they’ll just play the games behind closed doors?

Closed doors. Except for sponsors and exec members.

Should postpone it

Totally agree and hope that's the option they take.

500 fans seems to be a random number pulled out of nowhere. Start the winter break after tomorrow and then play the derby when more fans can attend.

No chance. It isn't 500 fans is it ? It's 500 people. Can we have 4 different events in each stand ?

Hopefully, but Sky might have a veto?

I think that sounds a reasonable option. However,i dont think they will be too keen on postponing too many games.... if restrictions were to remain for much longer than the 3 weeks quoted for now and into February,March etc, they will end up with a fixture backlog in a season which has a world cup looming up and a deadline to get season finished.I dont think they will want to cut season short again and risk the fallout from all that can bring. Might get away with just bringing forward winter break and then see where we are come the end of January.

I'm trying to figure out Sky's angle here.

Obviously they'll want to have as many people as possible watching the game on the telly, whenever it goes ahead.

But surely games in front of big crowds are a better spectacle? Even watching on the telly wasn't the same with empty grounds, especially for games like derbies not involving your own team. I quite like to watch a Derby/ Forest, a Portsmouth/ Southampton or the like when there are fans there and a tense atmosphere. Without that it's just a game of football and of minimal interest to a neutral.

And they'll want to enjoy the best possible relationship they can with clubs going forward - insisting that games go ahead and clubs lose fortunes isn't going to help with that.

Sky clearl have very strong influence but I don't think they hold all the aces.

And managers from other teams.....ripped my knitting during the last lockdown when the camera picked out other managers in the ground

If it is a ballot for the derby then the 500 should come from those who lost out on the Ross County ballot.

Thats the problem. This season cannot be extended. Turns next season into shambles. Players are already being overplayed

The ones who have hospitality season tickets will probably get first dibs
I for one won’t be entering a ballot IMO is a glorified friendly without all the fans.

:agree:

Not remotely interested with no fans going

Wouldn’t want to go with only 500 fans in attendance - full capacity of nothing for me.
