I know I'm preaching to the converted here, but can there be a worse run organisation in any sport anywhere in the world? To paraphrase Sybil Fawlty 'I've seen better organised things running around farmyards with their heads cut off'

Lets not even go into the absolute shambles they made of addressing the promotion relegation issues as a result of Covid.

Why can anybody tell me do they consistently organise a fixture pile up for December, the most expensive month of the year and a month where people are at their busiest in their home and social lives? At worst fans should have two home fixtures in December to pay for / attend ... we have 3 and heaven help folk who go to away games too ... they have 8 fixtures ( eight !!! ) not including the League cup final.

Who in their right mind on top of that organises their biggest showpiece event for 6 days before Christmas? as I said the most expensive time of year and on top of that decides to charge probably the highest prices ever for a final in either cup competition. Don't get the tickets out for postage until 12 days before the event in the worst month possible for postage, have no print at home option, for a venue that has very recently hosted Euro finals matches and even manage to piss off one of the clubs with an insulting and ill thought out ticket allocation.

They make Laurel and Hardy look like the German train timetable.

I think that they got the relegation issues spot on and indeed they should defo relegate Hearts this year in the interests of consistency.

I agree with this, and commend the OP for the Sybil Fawlty reference.

More people on holiday and up for midweek fixtures etc?

We’re not the only league that has loads of fixtures throughout the festive period.

3 home games in December is hardly worth crying about in my opinion.

Hard to disagree. I still don't understand having the break, which creates most of the problems you mention. Going back in time when we played on 1 and 2 Jan, & sometimes 3 games in 4 days, those were best attended games of the season. I loved going to ER the day after the derby, or better still heading off to Falkirk, Raith etc with thousands travelling. The SPFL certainly don't do effective marketing.

You’re right but the festive period is next week. We always have midweek games in the coldest and most expensive month of the year - plenty midweeks available in the (traditionally) better weather months but we choose to back up early and mid December for some reason year after year.

Aside from the relegation stuff with Covid which I thought they handled as well as could possibly be handled they have made a complete farce of the league cup.

In a pandemic when minimal transfer of things between sets of hands is vital to help stop things spreading we are using paper tickets. How many hands will the ticket had passed through before it arrives at someones door?

Hampden; ticket office; post sorting office; postman/woman; end user. MINIMUM 5 sets of hands.

Just mental.
