What a cracker it was? Have you seen a better one?

How about Donkey Dave in the cup final? Decent flying header at the near post.

The caption says he broke his nose doing that as well, I bet he had a brief thought about retiring after that 😂

Erich was one of my favourite ever players but he did score a couple of beauties right enough, he smashed one in at Ibrox one Wednesday night from the edge of the box, still the best left back I ever saw at Easter Road, bar none.

Lobbing Seaman has to be the best……

But last night’s was a thing of beauty, we were right behind it in the FFU and I loved the way he just threw himself at the ball lol

The best (worst) would have been Niklas Gunnarsson at Tynecastle just after Hanlon equalised to make it 2-2. What a slice!

Yip !
Was at Firhill for Thrills in the Scottish Cup when one of his trademark long throws was cleared back to him and he sent it back with interest into the faraway postage stamp

Terry Butcher had a cracker against Celtic. I found a video of it on YouTube but it was a bit too Celtcy for my liking, so I'm not posting the link.

Thanks for the reminder! I was right behind the goals at the front. Roddy Mackenzie masterclass 😭

the most disappointing one I seen was Arthur Duncans diving header against the huns in the 2nd replay 1979

Can mind Graham Mitchell scored a looping header at ER in the Dunbar end but can’t remember who it was against.

Surely sandy brown ( Everton ) headed own goal against liverpool is up there with the best.

The one I remember is Willie Miller of Hibs putting the ball past Andy Goram against Dundee Utd at Tannadice in 1990.

My daughter was born the day before and I had been celebrating/not sleeping for over 24 hours. Never was I less concerned about losing a derby. Of course we set the record straight on NY day. One of Turnbull's more bizarre decisions. We score 19 goals against Airdrie IN 1972/73 season then sign their keeper, Roddy Mackenzie! IIRC he conceded 4 on his debut at Dumbarton also.

No link to it and no idea of the game but I seem to recall a ridiculous top bin screamer from Alam Mullery for (but against) Spurs in the early 70s. Seemed like about a 40 yarder.

I always thought this was the own goal by which all others were measured.
Only about 30 seconds in.
Apologies for the graininess of the footage.

Murdo's debut, we took a big support up there. Was it not in the last minute or am I imagining things?

Remember watching this live on TV - Scotland leading 1-0 against Wales at Hampden then this happened.

Heading for a goalless draw in the last minute of the game and Willie Miller managed to loop the ball over Goram's head from near the touchline iirc!

John Blackley v Rangers at Ibrox. Must have been around 73 or 74. My memory of it was that he leathered the ball from not far in to our own half. It never got more than a couple of feet off the ground and rocketed past Jim Herriot. Worst best og I can remember.

I don't think any own goal can beat one that wins a national cup final for the enemy, unfortunately poor Arthur Duncan did just so in the 2nd reply of the Scottish Cup Final. Many moons ago, but still painful. He did go on to hold the record for Hibs appearances so scoring this one never held him back, great player by the way.

Did Caldwell and Smith not score one each in a 2-0 derby loss under Blobby? We the better team too. Sunday, cold and pissing it down.

I'm sure Jack Ross once scored a cracker for us against St Mirren - down the slope, another flying header.
