If I heard the interview correctly did he say he would not break his contact with Belgium going into the world cup and would be loyal to Martinez until it's over? I wonder what's changed? I'd be surprised if Hibs allowed him to still be part of the Belgian set up?

He said something along they lines although I think part of that was showing loyalty to his current boss

Different story when you are actually offered an opportunity

Maybe that's why we had talk of an interim manager till the end of the season. :dunno:

At that point, June 2020) he was clearly committed to Belgium and Martinez, and didn’t sound too clear about going into club management, but made reference to returning to the Celtic academy at some point. He has obviously had a change of mind and the direction he wants to go in. If he comes to ER, we’ll have to clear his head of the Celtic mentality.:greengrin

I'm now wondering if he really would give up the chance of taking Belgium to the WC finals in order to get the Hibs job.

Surely if he waited until November when his contract ends, a job will come up which he can apply for. :dunno:
