View Full Version : League Cup Final Ticket Drive

Hi folks,

Following requests from members, the wider support and a few posters on here we've been speaking with the club this week to arrange a platform to allow fans to contribute towards cup final tickets for Sunday which will be distributed by the Hibernian Community Foundation and its partner schools to Hibs-supporting families who are not fortunate enough to be in a position to buy tickets for the game in the week before Christmas.

I'm pleased to say the club have agreed to initially ring-fence 100 tickets for this and contributions can be made via the Hibernian Supporters website on the link below:

https://hiberniansupporters.co.uk/cup-final/

Given the quick turnaround time the contribution window will only be open until 5pm tomorrow, Wednesday 15th December.

Existing Hibernian Supporters members should note all contributions must be made using credit/debit card on the link above and contributions will not be added to existing accounts due to the logistics involved in this and the timescales we are working to.

Regular monthly contributions to Hibernian Supporters will not be used for this initiative and will be passed to the club in the usual way.

Thank you to the club who have worked with us quickly to get this arranged during an incredibly busy time for everyone at Easter Road, both in the stadium and ticket office.

With 100 tickets split 50/50 between adults & concessions we are looking at a target of £3200 (inc Stripe fees) to get these snapped up and in the hands of good Hibs fans at a really testing time of year.

Any questions please ask here in case others are thinking the same things.

My wee boy (7) has just returned a positive covid test meaning he and I are no longer able to go. He’s absolutely gutted but rather than trying to sell on our tickets can ours be added to these that are being donated?

It’s one adult and one concession for the South Stand Upper.

Hi all,

I'm delighted to say we have exceeded our initial target this evening and that total donations currently sit in excess of £3,300.

We will be in touch with the club and Community Foundation in the morning, if there's scope to add extra tickets onto the initial 100 and we can get them into the hands of some Hibs supporting families ahead of the weekend we will look to do that.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and shared kind words. What an incredible effort at this time of year from the Hibs family - hats off to you all.

Over 3000 quid in a day is an absolutely fantastic effort ... after witnessing the booing of Jason Cummings by some of our support tonight it's great to see through stuff like this that we still have some class as a support.

I’d be happy to talk about that, I don’t know Daniel , I just made the suggestion and he flew with it. I reckon he’ll see this thread so yes I’d personally be happy to make a contribution for seasons/ half seasons for folks in disadvantaged positions. We wouldn’t want to detract from HSLs regular donations nor kicks for kids but perhaps an HSL fund for specifically this purpose could be set up? I’m just making this up by the way , but Motherwell got a lot of good early season press coverage by providing something similar for a number of their fans

I think Leith Links already does this job, Suzy does a superb amount of work to raise money from fans which is then used to purchase Kicks for Kids season tickets.

The cup final was a one off opportunity to step up but we’d just be doubling the work where Suzy and Leith Links already exists.

Absolutely, it's at times like this when we all stop and look at the bigger picture that we realise, we actually can make a difference...:aok:

Often seen this photo and wondered if these guys are still around or their families recognise them, cracking snap from the past.

Really pleased to say that the club have agreed to provide a coach free of charge on Sunday to help get some of the ticket recipients through to Hampden.

I have to say they’ve been absolutely first class with this, with everything else going on (new manager recruitment, cup final to prepare for, ticket office working all hours to get the bulk of the tickets out to fans), they’ve taken the time to help us get this over the line.

A huge mention to Sue at the Foundation who spent her day off contacting charities and school groups this week to get the tickets into good hands.

A really great thing and one the fans, club staff and Community Foundation deserve huge credit for.

I have 3 tickets for South Upper on Sunday - can these be donated? The tickets are in Edinburgh and I can arrange for them to be dropped off but as we can’t travel up they’ll be going to waste - even though I have tried to sell them this is a much better way of using the tickets

Hi Ian, we’re asking anyone looking to donate tickets to contact the Community Foundation on [email protected] and they’ll be able to advise and include the tickets in their planning.

Thanks for your generous offer.

I’ve left some tickets at the ticket office as a donation, the lady from HCF is picking them up this afternoon so if you also wanted to leave unneeded tickets for her to pick up, (I won’t put her name up on here but the girl at the office knew they score and who she is) they will get distributed at local schools tomorrow. Sounds like if you drop them at the office tomorrow will be too late though.

My wife just asked if buying tickets for kids to see Hibs would fall under 'Child Cruelty'.

:greengrin
Tell her it's not child cruelty but character building. 😉

Latest total will allow us to buy 172 tickets for Sunday's final.

A genuine, heartfelt thank you to everyone who has dug deep at this time of year to allow some less fortunate Hibs fans to attend the match on Sunday afternoon.

We set out to raise around £3100 and in less than 48 hours we've raised over £5300, with donations still trickling in.

Thank you.

Amazing stuff!

Well Done to everybody involved

👍

p s. Kudos to Hibs for providing the free bus

It's such a touching gesture from many Hibs fans to think about the unfortunate that wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to go to a cup final...

Fantastic effort from the Hibs family, I doff my cap...:aok:

Not sure if I've missed the bus here.

I have 2 tickets that I'd like to donate, if I can.

Anyone have any advice on how that can be done?

GGTTH.

It's not something that's crossed my mind if im being honest, but now you mention it you'd think the families would know about this brilliant photo with it popping up every so often?...
