Sad to see the passing of Mike Nesmith, Steve Bronski and Mensi today.

As a big fan of the angelic upstarts the latter saddens me most. A band who released some absolute classic singles and a few brilliant albums. Hard to count how many times I'd seen them live.

Last time that I saw Mensi he had shed about three stones and more and looked in as good shape as he had been for a while. I knew that he had been struggling with Covid but this is a surprise.

He'd been in hospital with COVID for a few weeks and finally succumbed to it today.

I honestly had no idea, up until yesterday, that the guy who founded Bronski beat was actually called Bronski.

I wasn't particularly a fan (not saying I disliked their music) but you heard their songs everywhere when I was a kid, so his passing gives me pause for thought.

Yeah I read it on wiki and another site, passed away Feb 21He was in mod revival band Long Tall Shorty, who were pretty decent. Sure he did some gigs with Charlie Harper and The Urban Dogs and was also in Sham 69 for a spell.
