No chance , if it’s not in our attack minded , play with flair, remind us of Brazil 1970 way - I’m throwing my ST back at the after match party !!

I have no interest in how we play in the cup final - as long as we win it.
I don't think that detracts from the wider complaints regarding our general underperforming in the league.

Only if we win all games either side, playing like Brazil but also being tough as nails.

It’s a bizarre attempt at trolling posters who aren’t happy with the way we’re playing. Not that playing boring football and winning a cup and playing boring football and winning 4 points out of 24 can be compared mind you.

I’ve been looking for positive omens…
when we beat them in the 72 league cup final we had finished third the previous season and suffered a desperately disappointing scottish cup final defeat. We had also suffered a narrow and unlucky home defeat to the huns a couple of weeks before the Celtic final (which was shortly before Christmas).
Yep, I can’t see any way we’re not winning this cup on the 19th. And I would take any type of victory.

I'd take 1-0, no shots on target own goal winner for us, with 19% possession for us and 25 shots on target for them.
I'd rather win 6-0 with a commanding performance but we all know the chances of that are slimmer.

No, we need to show consistency in the league and genuine green shoots that we will be in the hunt for top four at the end of the season.
Attendances show that people just don’t want to watch this Hibs team just now. We’re not far away from ticket season time and that’s alarming.

Given our dreadful league form a cup final win would only paper over cracks. Theres 3 games before the final, time to get some form but I just can't see it happening.

Not if this league form continues. Winning the cup by beating Celtic in the final would be magic, but we need points now. I think the next three league games are massive for the manager.

So it's a myth that winning a cup and finishing middle of the table would be acceptable then.

I would imagine the vast majority of us would accept a mid table finish for the League Cup. The problem is we are currently experiencing relegation form, not mid table. Four points from eight games needs improving upon very quickly. A few wins would make a massive difference.

If we average the same number of points as our last three games (current form) over the remainder we will finish on 42 points. That will comfortably see us mid table. Fact.

Why would we? We could use the points from the first half dozen games and we’d probably be nearer third. That’s pointless. Pardon the pun.

We won't be relegated. However, in such a poor league our form should be better and it must improve. Staying up isn't the aim; being competitive is.

I don’t think we will be in a relegation fight either however we need a big turnaround in form and I’m not sure when or how that happens based on what I’ve watched lately. We will do enough to win a few games here and there, maybe even the cup final!!

It’s current:confused: we are talking about right? It doesn’t get any more current that that. It’s the cup final thread we are on. I can’t be arsed but it might make interesting reading the whole form of Ross’ tenure. Can we go that far back? He’s still plenty in the bank for me. Another run of defeats and I might change my mind but right now (currently) I’m absolutely fine with performances. Can’t wait to be a Livi on Wednesday night to be honest.

It’s “current” to you because it suits the point you’re trying to make. As I asked, why not 2 or 4? Because that changes the narrative

I was born in 1974 and couldn't tell you anything about our league form in 1972, what I have known from childhood is that we beat Celtic to win the League Cup. No one wants a bad league campaign (obviously), win that tin pot though and its written in the history books forever, future generations won't care a jot about the rest.

Anyone who adds in any caveats in not a Hibernian FC supporter. FFS, how many cup finals have we won since 1875. I couldn't give one jot how we win it, as long as we win it. This place is getting more and more bizarre by each passing day.
