Dnipro Kids Christmas fundraiser

Hi everyone. Hope you're all well!

As some of you may know, the Dnipro Kids charity was launched by Hibs fans way back in 2005 and, thanks to the generosity of donors, sponsors and fundraisers, we are still helping to support orphans in Ukraine all these years later.

We're now launching a JustGiving campaign to try to raise some funds to give the orphans in Ukraine a Christmas to remember.

We've already been offered a fantastic subsidised deal by the owner of a restaurant in Dnipro. They have done this the past couple of years and they always go out of their way to make it an extra special occasion for the kids. We also hope to buy each of the kids a present so they will all have a gift to unwrap. In previous years, we've also been able to treat the kids to a pantomime, a trip the the theatre or the cinema etc.

Due to COVID restrictions, we've not been able to take the kids on any excursions out of the city the past couple of years as we would normally. So we hope we can at least help to put smiles on their faces in the festive season.

Unfortunately, due to said COVID restrictions, our fundraising has been extremely limited since the pandemic started, as we've been unable to hold turnstile collections or host charity dinners, for example. This fundraiser could help us to make a big difference. We're aware that money will be tight for a lot of folk but if anyone could spare a few pennies it really would go a long way in Ukraine and would be very much appreciated.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated! It really means so much to the children and the orphanage parents. It's actually difficult to put into words just how much they appreciate it. Here's a video from a previous Christmas, with kids at one of the orphanages receiving their presents. And, of course, their orphanage mum also got a gift to unwrap. The orphanage parents basically dedicate their lives to the children and you can see at the 10 minute mark just how much it all means to these kids' orphanage mama. Thanks again!
