I've no idea about dogs and colours, but I can 100% confirm that you train a Parrot to say "Hearts are *****".

There used to be an urban myth in the head scene in 70s Edinburgh that dogs were "constantly tripping".

Mind you, given the atmosphere in some of the flats we frequented I wouldn't be at all surprised.
