I’m on the nw coast of Ireland. It’s not called the wild atlantic way for nothing. Pretty mental though thankfully no damage so far.

Wind is really picking up now. It's not meant to fully hit Edinburgh until about 6 too.

See before there was amber and red weather warnings we just had **** weather coming and really **** weather coming. It wasn’t really a drama that allocating a colour to it seems to generate.:greengrin

In other news, I've moved my car up my drive to the roadside as the ground is rapidly turning white. First time this winter, and it won't be the last!

I’m on the train north, currently between Kingussie and Aviemore which is where all the weather is supposed to be. A light dusting of snow and a wee bit blowy is all it is, a north wind this time of year is always on the bracing side mind :brr:

I drove back from Inverness this morning. Snow, reduced visibility and the temperature hovering around zero from Slochd to Pitlochry.

The good news is that the forecast for tomorrow is that things will have calmed down by the time people are travelling to games.

Wild in Dunbar, trampolines, bits of trees, bins and a fridge freezer have been spotted blowing past so far

I think Edinburgh must be missing the worst of this so far.

Was at a funeral this afternoon and just traveled home. Definitely a bit blowy and far from pleasant but seen worse.

Well, a bonus is that I don't have to decide what tree to take down for next winter's log supply 😁🌳

North of Fife and Dundee wild. Loads of roads blocked by trees, debris everywhere. Seen some poor sod in their car get banjoed by a flying trampoline. Bridge is open - just - but not fun to get across.

Fire engines on the Perth Road blocking it off for what’s looking like a chimney stack in danger.

I have a large wild cherry tree down in the garden, my neighbours tree has brought down their phone line and another neighbour has a large branch from a huge pine tree dangling over his summer house.

Oh aye and an inch of snow. Gonna be cold clearing my tree.

So St Johnstone have just announced that the game is off today... because the wind was so bad last night that the whole stadium was blown away, and they're now in negotiations with Jeanfield Swifts (https://www.jeanfieldswifts.co.uk/) to see if they'd be willing to return it.

That's one large tree cut into sections and the branches pile up ready for shredding. Just in time for the game. Is it on the radio?

Given its Dundee that’s probably unrelated to the weather.

I didn't think the winds were up to much in Edinburgh city centre on Friday - it was a bit windy but nothing worthy of warning. On the outskirts it maybe got a bit worse - my BBQ got sent flying into my garden and bins got blown over.

Woke up this morning to a blanket of white though - looks like there's been a bit of snow. ❄️

Took the dog for a walk this morning and all over Dundee there are trees down, branches ripped off, fence panels and the like blown over. Done a fair bit of damage.

The winds here were absolutely wild on Friday night, the worst I can remember them.

Some day you will find them caught beneath a landslide. Could be worse places to be stuck

Customers who went to watch an Oasis tribute band at Britain's highest pub in the Yorkshire Dales are now set to spend a third night trapped by heavy snowfall

Did you say this was on Perth Road in Dundee?

Which pub?

I was up at a 50th yesterday in Dundee (used to live there). All the trains were off so I ended up driving but by the time I got through it had totally calmed down. There were signs of damage everywhere though.

It was the Charleston Inn up by the hospital.

Doesn't look as horrendous today but that's with all the debris cleared up. Still looked a horrendous mess on Saturday though and surely must be a fair bit of damage to it.

I was down in St Abbs photographing the seal pups being born just two weeks ago. Heartbreaking to think that such a huge chunk of that very colony was wiped out over the weekend by the storm.

I stay out in Aberdeenshire on an estate house surrounded by forest. Just got out today as the roads were blocked with trees and we had heavy snow and ice. Been out of power since Friday at 4pm and they just turned up today and have started planting poles, have a helicopter here too. They reckon it could well be the weekend before we see power again. I’ve gotten out and away to stay at a friends house - 3 days at -4 with no heating was an adventure!

It is amazing the damage up there, looks like a tornado has come through…the trees came down that hard they have ripped the road up.
