....apparently for the second time.

The Rangers are so self important they think they can dictate which pundits are allowed to cover their games.

It's a non story for Rangers if there are no financial penalties for this unilateral action.
As far as i am aware nothing happened last time.
A mealy mouthed statement from BT doesn't cut it.

As I said in the main Sevco thread

BT need to grow a pair and do the whole broadcast from Celtc Park, repeatedly explaining that Sevco have refused to ensure the safety of their pundits.

Stop broadcasting their games and refuse to pay UEFA. The Huns that cant watch the game would put pressure on the club.

The BBC now BT what an stinking cesspit of a club. Next thing it will be Ian Crocker because of his wonderful cup final commentary. They need to grow up.

Therein lies the problem. It's all about money and power and because BT love the former so much Rangers have the later over them.
BT need to broadcast their matches to keep their Rangers supporting subscribers around the world so guess what, they will just work round this issue.
Rangers can only be brought to heal if they are denied the broadcasting money but BT still want to broadcast their matches so it won't happen.
Their response is a mealy mouthed statement which simply kicks the can down the road until the next European night where Rangers are at home and Celtic are away on the same night.

Outside their own fans the Rangers are seen as being an odious and bigoted club.

Maybe their plan is to have zero tv coverage of their games to reduce the liklihood that they will be closed down due to their fans mass racism.

The clock is ticking for them though. A vile institution.

Do Rangers get paid by BT for the use of their facilities when broadcasting from Ibrox? Surely BT just have to pull the plug and hit them in the pocket by refusing to set up a studio their going forward?

But is it and in what way? At the end of the day, Rangers (particularly) and Celtic call the shots, rule the roost, crack the whip etc. while the SPFL, SFA and FIFA tut tut and pay lip service to some crappy sanctions but are toothless onlookers.

BT were using Celtic Park last night so I assume they got paid.

I agree that the football authorities, particularly in Scotland, will continue to do nothing off their own back. What has changed though is society in general will not continue to tolerate parades of mass racism like on display at Ibrox every 2nd week. It might take a couple of years, 5 years or maybe 10 years but there is definitely trouble ahead for them. There is no leadership at the club so they will get dragged kicking and screaming.

I wish I shared your optimism. Meanwhile, certain segments of the UK population are happy that some refugees drowned, and there are people in the US government who want to literally award Kyle Rittenhouse a medal. The lurch to the very far right suggests that it's progressives who have cause to worry.

It would probably hit BT too much not to Broadcast but I would stick a full panel of ex Celtic Players as a commentary and pundit team and broadcast from Parkhead. Spend the whole time the match isn't on talking about a team that isn't playing. Not dissimilar to what many clubs like us have to put up with from most broadcasters. It sends the message that BT are in charge of choosing their staff and if Rangers don't like that then there is no need for the panel to be neutral.
