Don’t think I’ve ever seen a more ridiculous fight.
Traffic jam before the slip, and supporters buses, 1 hun and 1 Hibs have fans flying out for a fight on the motorway.

Brain deid motorway dancers on hibs.net and followfollow buses fighting over ownership of Florian Kamberi
The situation was apparently complicated by one group not doing walking away until it was discovered they had nothing left to fight for.

The behaviour of The Rangers fans was unbelievable before the game yesterday.

We'd already listened to their constant sectarian comments on the way toward the game (apparently we're a bunch of Tarriers, whatever that is) but we then watched a big group of them abusing somebody at the end of our street...

...because they had a Scottish Flag hanging in the window!

I kid you not! Apparently having a Saltire makes you a 'nationalist, fenian, sellik b*****d'

Then some guy that looked about about 65 screamed, 'I f*****g hate you', as we passed him outside the main entrance to Hampden.

From the video on the sun website, it looks like it was the rangers fans attacked the Hibs bus (shock). Hope that none of the Hibs boys that got off were hurt.

Always a sense of tension in the air whenever we play them in Glasgow, that there isn’t even when we play Hearts. The risk of trouble never far away.

Absolutely brilliant when we beat them. 🇳🇬

It's toxic. I think Hibs v the huns is a more volatile fixture than the huns v Aberdeen these days. I expect the game in December to be very tasty too.

I love beating Hearts but nothing compares to spanking that lot. Especially in Glasgow.

They don't have any concept of risk.
Fighting in their best clothes is also a thicko classic.

Husband: "Hi love, how was your day?"
Wife: "Yeah great, I met Lucy and Jackie for lunch, some shopping and finished off with some cocktails, how about yours?"
Husband: "Great yeah, we were sitting in traffic on the M74 drinking warn Strongbow Dark Fruit and some guy on the bus next to us gave me the Nescafe shake sign, so I got off in the traffic and had a fight with him"

Whilst waiting on friends outside the south I saw a bit of pavement dancing from both sides.

Starts of with the usual name calling, which then escalated into square gos. What’s the point? I don’t get the mentality of wanting to throw punches, risk getting lifted etc. Just get into the ground.

Drinking on empty heids. I saw one guy who must have been in his fifties hanging out a mini bus window screaming about Walter Smith being deid to two Dutch fans walking through the crowd of Hibees half an hour before kick off. Surely The The buses should be routed along the M8. Pretty sure we are when we are in that end.

There was all sorts going on after the game in the streets. Saw one Rangers supporter with his wee boy basically hiding behind the police while he got abuse from some erses.
The final won't be quite as bad with being Celtic but you are always at risk from our own fans at a Cup final due to the nick so many get themselves in.

Some utter idiots in the front row of the south stand yesterday sadly, one guy in particular should be utterly ashamed of himself. He was asked to move back from the gate by a steward and he replied by telling him to **** off several times and then went within inches of the steward's face and shouting "or what, or ****in what?" several times before the steward did the sensible thing and moved back a few feet.

I really thought he was going to headbutt the guy and he's fortunate that there were no police around at the time or he would have been lifted.

Not a young guy either, not that would have made it ok if he had been.

Yeah he was basically asking to get chucked out the whole game. Kept standing in front of me and staggering about the place. Pain in the arse but seemed harmless enough.

This other guy was a real nasty piece of work, bald about 50ish maybe and as I said I really thought he was about to headbutt the steward. I really wish the police had been there to lift him.

Hi PB, that was me and my boy sat behind you and I can confirm that my laddie was ****ing himself. He’s only 8 year old and the dafties banging his window gave him the fright of his life. Myself and father in law were just laughing it off as supporter banter to try and keep him calm but it certainly went beyond that.

I’ve said to him for years that the rangers support are a horrible bunch and he never understood it. There’s no question he gets it now.

Had a run in with a few ********s on the way round to our stand as well so he was a nervous wreck by the time we got to the ground. Different story at full time though and always great to have the last laugh 😂

Thanks to yourself and the driver for how you dealt with the situation.

Whoever was responsible for getting the fans in and out of the ground made a right mess of it, there were folk itching for trouble before the game where the fans of both sides were mixing, then post match with Rangers fans having to come through the Hibs support and there were pavement dancers having wee scuffles all the way to the buses. It was probably lucky that the Rangers end emptied long before the Hibs end because if we’d been coming out the stadium together it could have been very messy.

On a side note I get that you shouldn’t really generalise like that as I’m sure there’s lots of decent Rangers fans out there. I just don’t get how any decent person can sit amongst that lot, go to their games and listen to the ***** week in and week out then come away being anything other than an ********.

Probably unavoidable given the number of Rangers there, especially given they looked ridiculous and were extremely noticeable, but pre-match that's by far the most aware I've ever been of another support at Hampden.

After the game being directed from the South Stand on to a road with a steady stream miserable pissed off Huns was asking for trouble as well. Assume it kicked off at various points, was niggly as anything.

Glad he’s OK Bingo. The Huns have always been the same. I would have been a bit older than your boy but I still remember exiting the old North Stand after a game against them. As they walked past us they decided to chuck full cans of beer in our direction not caring who they hit, while the police stood and watched only taking action when one Hibby who had been hit with a can picked it up and chucked it back in their direction. This would have been roughly 40 years ago.

That day, while not a pleasant experience taught me all I needed to know about the Huns, in the same way as your boy (unfortunately) had to learn on Sunday.

May just depend who you know? But I can’t blame anyone for taking the view they are all like that. Fortunately, I’ve got to know rangers fans over my time in the West who are categorically not Huns. They talk of blue and white, never blue, white and red. All yes voters, most regulars at Ibrox and don’t stand for any of that pish. Unfortunately they are a minority and while fairly sizeable I feel for them as let’s face it, it’s embarrassing. It’s the exact same for the other side with how many Celtic fans do not partake in any of their ‘baggage’. It just depends who you have the pleasure or perhaps in most people’s cases, Displeasure of knowing.

When you say "don't stand for it" what do you mean? Do they call other Rangers fans out at Rangers games? You say they are regulars at Ibrox so they must have some degree of tolerance if they keep going back?

That's my point exactly.

Anybody that is happy to sit in a stadium where the majority (yes, the majority) of fans are singing sectarian songs and is happy to go along every week despite that is showing a distinct lack of morals.

A previous poster made the point that if you replaced the sectarian singing with racist singing, how would they feel about that?

Let's be honest, there really is no difference in sitting among thousands of white supremacists singing racist songs and constantly using the N word, to sitting among thousands of bigots singing songs about 'fenians' and calling everybody else tarrier or taigs.

The weird thing is, and you'll know this better than me living in the weedge, I'm not actually sure if it's religious intolerance thats the actual issue despite how it's vocalised a lot of the time.

It seems to be more an anti Irish and more oddly and recently anti Scottish (atleast in terms of Scottish independence).

Im pretty certain a huge proportion of Rangers fans aren't Protestant but are actually atheist, despite what they might think. I think some people in this country think if you aren't a church going Catholic it means you're a Protestant.

Genuinely interested to hear your perspective as someone who lives and works with Rangers supporters.

I think there two kinds of rangers supporters, which I divide into huns and rangers supporters. Huns are the FTP, f the Irish types, who would turn up for orange walks and call anyone and everyone who wasn't like them a tarrier etc. To me they are the majority. The others guys, rangers supporters you often meet through work find the huns to be embarressing, yet nevertheless turn a blind eye and ear to what goes on around them. I have asked guys about it and they think it is a mungo minority of load mouths that are into the FTP stuff. Scratch a bit further and you can a variety of answers like what about the sellic and the idea of the 90 minute bigot, plus its not really as bad as folk make out.

They also do point out that all Hibs fans are casuals and our support is very violent.

A few a limited few have admitted that is embarressing, but would be unable to confront the issues.

I'd bet the vast majority of them have that playlist (digital/CD/vinyl) that they play at parties when they think they can get away with it.

You should see them when Tina Turner comes on the Juke box.

Its a cult similar to how the right wing uses Christianity in America. In truth they are blood thirsty pitbulls. Hillbillies in America are named as such due to them being followers of King Billy back in the day.

You never have to scratch far below the surface with these supposed 'moderate' huns to see it's ingrained in all of them.

A more vile institution in sport you'll struggle to find.

Yeah, you're absolutely right about the anti-Irish thing. I find that really weird as well as the majority of Rangers Fans I know have no issue outside of matches with people that are of an RC persuasion, or are Irish.

Sadly there's a hard core of real bigots, then there's the people that join in with them on match days.

As for the anti-Scottish side; I think I mentioned already that I saw some of them giving abuse to a local resident on Sunday for having a Saltire in their window.

There's actually been quite a few Saltires in people's windows round here because Scotland were playing so well and getting decent results, but those idiots seemed to presume it was only there to wind them up.

Weird bunch

Whoever was responsible for getting the fans in and out of the ground made a right mess of it, there were folk itching for trouble before the game where the fans of both sides were mixing, then post match with Rangers fans having to come through the Hibs support and there were pavement dancers having wee scuffles all the way to the buses. It was probably lucky that the Rangers end emptied long before the Hibs end because if we’d been coming out the stadium together it could have been very messy. We came down the tunnel from the South and walked to the open exit. This was the one that took us downstairs and likely to mingle with the currents. We walked to the polis and said how do we get back up, back into the stadium and round? He said, are they letting the Hibs fans out that exit? "Well d'uh". They ran off letting us go through a barrier to join the other happy hibees.

The wall of silence around the bottle throwing incidents at the game is an absolute disgrace but no surprise really.
Brushed under the carpet as usual despite being spotted on tv and match photos.

As I’ve said before, in France, the league closes whole stands for the next game when a bottle lands on the pitch. (Although to be fair it’s not working because it keeps happening). But in this country for the Huns it seems to be acceptable.

Not to mention the fuss they made a few years back when a bottle was chucked at aribo and they media were right behind them

Slight change of topic, but I was surprised how much police was around on Sunday in and around Hampden.

Did the march proceed okay? Walk past it with the fans surrounded by police.

The amount of police that appeared behind both goals as soon as the penalty was awarded 😅

In an overwhelmingly secular 21st century Scotland the "Protestant" label The Rangers fans attach to themselves is simply that, a tribal label. The vast majority have probably never been in the kirk and are even less likely to be able to name the Moderator of the COS. As others have said it's essentially anti-Irish racism towards anyone or any institution which is deemed to have Irish Catholic connections.

I've a couple of Rangers pals who stopped going decades ago when they were old enough to see the hatred for what it is. I have a couple of extended family members who still go and turn a blind eye to the bigotry. They don't and won't call it out because they feel they are very much in the minority. When I ask them if they would still go if the word fenian in songs was replaced by the n word they become very defensive.

I honestly can’t think of too many that are worse. I know there’s clubs out on the continent with proudly racist ‘ultra’ sections, but Rangers are unique in the way it seems to run through their club like a stick of rock. A truly horrible organisation

I know of enlighten Hearts fans that are embarrassed by the racist/bigotry from a minority of their fans. I was a Chelsea fan in the mud sixties and early eighties but stopped supporting because of the large Nation Front allegiance amongst their support. Don't know if the attached us correct but does point to a large number of sane Rangers' fans.

My abiding memory of the Sticky Buns as a kid (11/12?) was being spat on down Easter Road by one of them.

Never even remotely anything like that from Celts fans in all the time I went to those fixtures.

The Huns really are THE cesspit of European football.

I loathe them and everything they stand for. Vile, vile pee pul.

They can shove their pathetic majorette twirling, clown dressing, big drum beating nonsense right up there!

When I was 10 I was hit over the head by a bottle of Lanliq, the precursor to Buckfast at Easter Road.
