New contract as well by the looks of it. Very proactive from Hibs.

McGinn has been superb for us.

I'm delighted with all of these new contracts.

Whilst I accept that the team needs to evolve and improve, I think that happens best from a position where we have players in position who we know can perform at a certain level for us - and we add the odd better player in. Letting it get to the stage where we're having clear outs but have a blank canvas upon which to paint is a bit high risk (see Aberdeen this season and taking a bit of time to get a few players to bed in).

The correct approach :agree:

We have about eight players who could well be leaving in the summer so there will be plenty of scope to bring in players to improve every part of the squad. Keeping a decent core group of players gives us a great platform to build on.

New contract as well by the looks of it. Very proactive from Hibs.

Pay rise and extra year for Doig. Contracted until 2026.

McGinn is the last of the low hanging fruit with Doidge probably the best effort to date.

It will be interesting to see who gets contracts after that.

Out of contract in the summer:
Allan, Murphy, Campbell, Gullan, Hallberg, Gogic, Mackie, Wright

McGregor to be eased out of the playing side and into the backroom staff

And

The main drama - Porteous sign extention or be sold

Heat is on the CEO to resolve the Porteous issue.

If they all go that is 10 players to replace.

Hibs socials have posted 5 tweets today prior to the ‘another contract’ one three of them were photos of Porto...is this a sign. Or am I going to much Saulgoodman on this.

The last year or so has seen Hibs be more proactive and decisive than ever before with contracts. A clear shift from even 3 years ago when we let McGeouch and Fyvie go for nothing, and McGinn get to his last year. Obviously not every player will sign, but we're clearly doing more than ever to make them.

McGinn only being said because of Davina McCall? Think that’s more the phrase than anything but I like the thought if it is

Edit: Josh Doig! Great news

I don't think it's unrealistic to suggest only 1 or 2 of that out of contract list will get new contracts now.

Campbell seems likely if he gets a bit of 1st team action between now and the end of the season.

Murphy, Allan and Halberg are all in the maybe pile. I think the latter is unlikely and the 1st 2 have to prove they are capable of performing regularly at this level. I'm not sure either can do that because of their fitness and health issues.

The rest will all go imo. When you consider up to 8 players could walk away in the summer it's all the more reason to be getting guys like McGinn and Hanlon who are still contributing tied down. Use the wages of the likes of Mackie, Gullan and Wright to improve the squad whilst retaining a core.

It isn’t Mcginn.

Surprisingly it’s Doig until 2026!!

Only 14 outfield players currently contracted for next season and that includes McGregor and Porteous but not Mueller because we haven't, as far as I am aware, been told the length of his contract.

In answer to your post I reckon Allan, Wright, Gogic, Gullan are toast.
Hallberg will want to go
There could be wriggle room on Campbell and Mackie because they will be on low wages. A big 6 months for Mackie now. Hope to hell he can avoid injury.
Ross will want shot of Daz from the playing budget
Murphy decision will depend on lack of injuries in the next 6 months and even then would require a far less lucrative contract to stick around.
And the biggy, I don't think Porteous will sign a new contract so will be sold. He is holding all the aces.
Don't know how much we will get for him. Great ability but poor decision making is still an issue.

The winter window is just ahead and we have extended our key assets contracts. If any go in this or the next window the price just went up.

We are a selling club and the business model demands we commit to longer contracts to maximise sell on fees.

Not Mueller because as far as i am aware we don't know how long his contract is.
15 outfield players if he sticks around or 13 if Porteous and McGregor are gone.

It's a pretty safe guess that Muller isn't coming on a six month deal, so I'd include him in the list of players under contract for 22/23.

Think it is a bit unfair to say we let McGeough and Fyvie go. They ran down their contracts and certainly in the case of Fyvie got some very bad advice from their agent.

Great work getting done just now though.

That’s burst of pace to close down Kent in the first half? Never in a million years would I have said that was Paul McGinn. Superb.

Both should've been renewed after 6 months like we've just done with Doyle Hayes. Their quality was obviously. Lennon played a big part in us losing both actually.

I couldn't care less about that. Guy was a good player for Hibs, losing him for nothing was a mistake.

McGeouch had decided to try his luck down south and was pissed off with Lennon so was never staying beyond his contract and Fyvie's agent played chicken with Lennon and lost. I felt sorry for Fyvie and thought he was worth keeping.

Fully deserves a new deal

I think we could've kept Dylan. Lennons rubbish with him having to man up etc pushed him out. Should've renewed him the day after SC win.

I still actually can’t believe that happened - I thought at best he was going to have to take a booking for the team but his interception was perfection.

Apart from that he was terrific - and he’s a guy you just want to do well.
