That's Airdrie now with 8 wins out the last 10 games and sitting top.
If and when we come into the market for a new manager (and I hope we dont anytime soon as I am a big fan of JR) do you think it could be something Ian would be ready for, or still a step too much for now?

He seems to have been kicking around as a manager for quite a while now. If JR suddenly left today (also hope that doesn't happen) i think he would be an outside bet at best. I think we'd cast the net further afield.

I'd be interested to know what sort of football his team plays. I always associate Airdrie with physical football, lumping it long and kicking people a lot. I would suggest the secret to being a popular Hibs manager and therefore being perceived as being relatively successful, is to play exciting attacking football. Anyone watch Murray's Airdrie much and able to comment ?
Just looking at the stats they seem to score plenty of goals and don't have the best defensive record..so maybe they are a bit more swashbuckling under Murray

I think we have our new Manager sitting in the wings !!!! "our new Academy Director"
If we were in the market for ex-Hibbies currently managing at the top end of League One would we consider the Cove Rangers boss ... Paul Hartley?

Didn't do too great at St Mirren, albeit quite a while ago.

League 1 is probably the most competitive league in Scotland this season with Cove, Falkirk and Queens Park all having significant financial backing and Montrose in the mix too who are a very well-run club.
What Ian Murray is achieving at Airdrie just now deserves more credit, and they're doing it whilst being part-time and having a smaller budget than at least 1/2 of the league, by all accounts they're also playing some really good football too.
I get the St Mirren time will always be held against him but the circumstances of that period need to be noted, was given very little time and budget by Tony Fitzpatrick and whilst they did struggle, he's not the only one to have struggled during that era. But did very well at Dumbarton, on a limited budget, had them punching above their weight for 2+ seasons.
I think he also spent some time coaching in Norway with Kevin Nicol after St Mirren, so he's gone away and learnt a new style of game and way of life too, which should be commended.
FWIW, I think he should be on the shortlist, if and it's a big if, he can keep up the trajectory that Airdrie are on at the moment.

Not a chance. Clearly out of his depth as a first team manager. Sure he'll know that too.

I reckon there are a few really good managers plying (in some cases learning) their trade in Scotland’s lower leagues.

Hybrid model... Some full-time players like Rhys McCabe, Dylan Easton, Callum Fordyce, Josh Kerr etc, young part-timers and a sprinkling of loan signings.
Thomas Robert moved on to a team in Belgium.
