If anyone at Ibrox is interested a phone call to Charlie Adam will provide them with all they need to know. A wee update for our fans to at least who was fit to play after the Covid scare would have been nice without giving away tactics etc.

It’s not a problem just a poster having a dig at the club for no reason!

There does seem to be a recent trend when good news or positive updates have been shot down by certain posters. Lewis and Paul with extended contracts and now this rubbish about no update for a bounce match.

It was a training match, probably without a referee or assistants.

Why is anyone bothered about getting an update about that? An update which would only further prepare our semifinal opponents, particularly if key personnel were missing, or indeed, included?

The less The Rangers know about us the better.

If Rangers are interested in what went on in the bounce game, they’ll get that, no bother, from someone. Nor do I think the lack of a report from the club is anything sinister or something to get knickers in a twist over.

Is Magennis back training at all yet? Bit of a concern as the original four weeks came out of the blue at the time. Understand it is a persistent groin problem but hopefully the club will give us an update in the next press conference as his energy is a big miss in midfield.

He was injury prone at st Mirren A five year deal was a big gamble So far it’s not worked out due to repeated periods out with injury
Am sure this time they said rest for four weeks as they weren’t sure how bad the injury was No update is never a good sign
He had just begun to prove how valuable a player he could be for us
But if true this is a huge blow for us and the player

Does make you wonder at some of the pre recruitment checks when we have signed players like Murphy and Magennis (both notionally very productive) out for lengthy periods and never able to get a consistent run.

Players get injured though both were coming back from acl so there are usually some related injuries though maybe not as many or regularly as both have picked up disappointingly.

Missed nearly half of the last three years from injury, including time with us.

A quick Google shows in his years as a 1st team player Magennis has managed the following appearances (all competitions):

16/17 - 32
17/18 - 29
18/19 - 19
19/20 - 27
20/21 - 23

It's not great really but it hardly screams a guy who is contributing nothing season after season either.

I do get that, but you cant deny that its a little frustrating that we "appear" to have had a habit of signing players who are injured on arrival or who are not strangers to the treatment table when they get here.

That happens, I understand that, but if you run a small squad as we are - then you cant really afford players that might show up in 25% of the matches (I am talking Murphy now) and command a decent wedge.

I think the biggest problem is that it’s too stop start. Murphy is the same (probably more so) and it means they’re always playing catch up even when available and we don’t get enough from them as a result.

I don’t think he was that injury prone until he done his knee and has struggled massively since.

I wonder if part of it is that he’s doing too much in the gym. He’s in really good shape and a couple of the players have said he’s an animal in the gym.

Is part of it that he’s doing too much/trying too hard in the gym that it’s overloading his muscles such as his quads, hamstrings etc which is why he’s getting more injuries now he’s back.

Training your legs with heavy weight or just a lot of volume could be doing too much and damaging his muscles instead of repairing them.

I know that happened to me as I thought bigger/stronger legs = solid knee and no injuries. Went to the physio shop advised different or different types of exercises.

In fairness to Hibs we have everything in place so that it shouldn’t be that with all the sports scientists etc but you never know if he’s doing extra in his own time.

I don’t think his cruciate was his first bad injury. That was 19/20 but he’d missed well over half the 18/19 season through injury also.

We could really do with him being regularly available because he was the difference in midfield start of this season.

Not when they are different parts of the body. I’ve worked with a player that missed 8 months over a two year period with multiple different injuries. It’s just luck or the sign of a player who puts a bit more in than others. If it’s was the same ligament issue every time I’d agree with you. But Kyle has had multiple different injuries around his body. It’s just poor luck.

Tait is a Raith player. Not sure I recognised a couple of players. Would be good to see Mackay back a bit of pace from the bench is always good to have.

Mackay or Campbell might be the guy before Gullan at the front of the group on the left as we look at the clip.
Thought Tait might train with us a few times through the week

Josh Campbell is at the front on the left, ahead of Gullan

I recognise all the players with the exception of the guy in front of Gullan.
Hallberg is looking in great nick.

Thanks Billy I came up with Josh just before you posted.
So basically no Magennis and no Mackay at the moment.

JR said that Mackay is just about to resume training after his injury
Sean Mackie training in the video too
Think in the cup we can have 9 on the bench and play 5 subs

Thanks re Mackay, I haven't watched JR's interview yet.

I saw Mackie in the clip in front off and chatting to McGinn.
We hadn't been told Hallberg was back training so it was good to see him with the group.

However, Magennis is going to be a big miss given we have 9 games in 28 days from Sunday.
