Going really well in their first season in the SFL, still unbeaten. I've never paid any attention to them, but I assume there must be some link with our dear next door neighbours? It's bad enough having one club called Hearts and playing in maroon. Were Kelty formed by Hearts fans or something? What's the deal?

There's just something about them I can't take to :greengrin

Wish any club carrying that name nothing but ill fortune. Petty but is what it is.

The only Hearts that can beat Brora Rangers.

I know 3 people from Kelty, and they're all staunch Yams. That doesn't necessarily mean the whole town is though.

I'm assuming it isn't an easy place to be a Hibby!

The other 6727 can afford the bus fare to Glasgow 😉

I used to live about 100 yards from Dundonald Bluebell's ground and during the 70's they were in the Fife junior league and used to play Thornton Hibs who played in the famous green with white sleeves. I always used to wonder then if there was a connection to Hibernian.

I don’t have the reference to hand but Volume 1 of Alan Lugton’s trilogy contained lists of clubs around Scotland who took their name from Hibs charitable inspiration (yes, stretching to Harps, Celtics, Shamrocks and more). Thornton Hibs and Duntocher Hibernian might’ve been two examples but I couldn’t be certain. Maybe Thornton came a wee bit later.

Kelty hearts fans are mostly celtic and rangers fans from the videos I've seen from them.

Well it is in Fife. Which in my ignorance I guess is a
a suburb of Glasgow.

Not sure if you're serious or not, but Fife is solid East surely?

Scottish junior cup winners/runners-up

Maryhill Hibernians--1927-28
Denny Hibs--1930-31, runners-up 1911-12, 1928-29
Cambuslang Hibs--1895-96
Duntocher Hibs--runners-up 1954-55

then of course Thornton Hibs

i remember a Port Glasgow Hibs 20+ years ago but no idea if they still play

I’d guess it was a joke based on the fact every village/town/city in Scotland is majority OF.

Refreshing in these times that a wee club like Kelty can bring such deeply opposed people together like that isn’t it?

I know it makes me a heretic but I'm struggling to dislike Kelty Hearts just because they have 'Hearts' in their name.

I mean, I hate Glasgow Rangers but, for some reason, I really have a soft spot for Brora Rangers.

Then I hope Kelty Hearts have a loyalist element of their own: mini mini-Huns :greengrin
