Got to agree with you Mick. Awards ceremonies like this often reach arbitrary decisions and voting for a band you've never heard of just cos the drummer is Hibs daft makes a complete mockery of the award. I suspect the drummer himself might prefer to win it on the true merit of his band.

have never heard of the bands unless you take an interest in indie music
You could have spent the time listening to them on the links provided and made your own mind up if they deserve a vote. It’s a request to help young people get up the ladder
The drummer is very comfortable with the posting on the Net as at this stage of their careers it’s all about exposure of any kind.

I was just having a bit of fun.
We are all Hibernians. So it gets my vote, if only for that reason.

I wonder though, had The Proclaimers been jambos,would SOL have become our anthem ?

One London born rock star who early in his career showed allegiance in a song to Celtic and Man Utd to sell more records...... did ok
He even recorded a song (Grace) he first heard being sung by fans at Celtic Park.

Good luck to the band. They might write a Hibs song one day !

Nah. Listening to one or two songs on You Tube to judge which is the best band is like watching the goals from one weekend's matches in the SPL to determine which is the best team. I wish your daughter and the band whatever success their talent deserves, but voting for them to win an award just 'cos the drummer and singer's dad are big Hibbies is not for me sorry.

Indeed. I listened to a few of their tracks on Apple Music. I liked what I heard so had no hesitancy in voting. I’ll be following them with interest now. Wish them the very best.
